The room was quiet. The suspense of action and the question of need hung in the air thickly lined with an unknown tension. "There has to be a reason", she said. She knew her like her own daughter and right now it was not disappointment that laced her thoughts but worry. "Ammi Hume Zoya se Kuch aur expect hi nahi karna chahiye tha", Asad said, with his forehead creasing into innumerable wrinkles.
"Why would Zoya do it?" That was the million dollar question. True they didn't exactly ask to be married but why wait long and deep within his heart Asad knew that Zoya would never cheat his ammi. "Was something wrong?" he kept questioning himself.
Such was the love that the khan house gave Zoya, the very same belief and faith was making her breathe in a faraway place where that beautiful soul suffered for the deed she had never committed.
oOo
"Why? Why are you doing this to me? To a family that loves you so much. Are you in your senses? " cried Zoya. " it's not too late please let me go" I will give you anything you want please let me go!" Zoya cried with the desperation of a daughter not wanting to disappoint her mother.
In the dark room, a smile gleamed with the pleasure from the pleas of a helpless girl. "oh come on Zoya I'm not going to let you go. Only you have brought upon yourself this fate.
"Let you go so easily, after all the trouble you have caused me. You could have just left you know and I would have achieved what I want. But you interfering nature has put both of us into a lot of trouble. Asad, his money, his wealth, and his name don't belong to you, because I have claimed it long ago, and I will go to any extent to get it. Trust me; you are but a pawn in this game. I have kept the check and no king can escape this billo rani.
"How could you Tanveer, how could you be so mean? And Asad is your friend from childhood, don't do this to him. He trusts you, please don't break his trust, he's already suffered enough betrayal", screeched Zoya.
"For god's sake YOU don't tell me what to do, and if you don't shut the hell up, you'll be sorry you were ever born". Her ringing phone distracted her from the cruel speech she was ready to give. "This khala, god! Will the never leave me in peace?" "you have to rot a little more I think, I will be back in the evening, Ms. new York, be ready to suffer living hell" saying so she walked away from the place signaling to the gundas she'd left behind
Zoya felt chilled to her bones when she realized that Tanveer would even go to the extent of killing her."Mr. Khan", she whispered in agony. He was the first thought that came into her head. She didn't want to die. No way in hell.
OOo
KHAN MANSION
"Zoya would not go away without an explanation; she is a little stupid but surely not that stupid. Something is definitely wrong. I can feel it." Asad felt cold and empty but what was it? He had to find out. He tried calling her phone, once, twice, thrice, it kept saying non-reachable. He didn't like this at all, her being away from him, voluntarily or involuntarily. "I should check her room"; saying this to himself he took quick steps towards her room." What if she's in trouble? What if she's not okay? God help me! Help her!"
Opening the door, he saw that it was just as messy as it should be; his eyes caught a pink notebook on the bed. Picking it up, he realized that it was her diary. He opened the last written page with hesitation, but with the hope of finding her whereabouts.
"It may be fake but it feels so real. 6 months ago I wasn't ready for something like this. But today nothing has ever felt more right to me. For the first time in my life, I feel safe and secure, like I have a family. My aapi and jiju gave me all the love, but there always seemed a hole in my heart. I don't know why but it feels like now those wounds of the past are getting healed. I came to India to find my father but in the bargain I found a family, a mother who loves me like her own daughter, a sister and a person who I can rely on at every stage in my life. Somebody who makes my heart beat and makes my heart stop. I know he may not seem to like whatever is going on but if the emotions I see in his eyes are the truth then I solely leave it on destiny to decide. Because today, I realize that I have found that one person I want to live for and die for. I will now have to go and get ready. I am wearing a beautiful red lehenga, and Allah miya, you and I both know why I chose that color!
Reading that, the lion fell to the ground, the diary dropping with a thud. With cent percent confidence he knew that she hadn't left, she had been taken. Call it intuition or sixth sense but Asad Ahmed khan felt the danger in the air and felt the tide of fate as it engulfed the two of them. The thought of her, had his eyes frantically searching an empty room. Just as he was about to give up, he saw brown marks on the floor. When he went closer, he saw that they were footprints, big ones, so obviously belonging to big feet. Hence definitely not Zoya's. His eyes travelled to the window where they led and he noticed a piece of her lehenga stuck on the hinge. It looked like she was forcefully dragged out. Asad clenched his teeth in anger. No one could enter the lion's den and steal what was his. NO ONE."Ms. Farooqui was kidnapped! But why? Why would anyone do such a thing?" worry crossed his features like a storm that suddenly rises in the sea. "I will not let anything happen to you Zoya. I just hope it's not too late"
Saying so to himself, he broke down. He couldn't handle it. Why did this always happen to him, to the people he cared about? He had to be strong for her, for them. He had yet again doubted her, doubted that she would humiliate his family. "I am truly sorry Zoya" he whispered to thin air. "And this time, when I find you, I'll tell you or rather show you how much I mean it"
And in a manner of two minutes, he dashed out of the house. From the car he called up two people. First his ammi to tell her what he had found and that he would bring back Zoya no matter what. Then he called up Prasad to trace Zoya's number immediately and tell him and to call security for protection to his family. Having lived in Bhopal all his life, he knew the hideouts for such crimes and by the number of clues that had been; left behind, he was sure that it was the work of an amateur. His car now moved at a rate faster that his dangerous heartbeats that beat for the one soul that it was presently struggling to find.
OOo...with a dirty laugh, he pushed the chair she was tied to on the ground and the only other sound heard was the whip lashing on her delicate skin...
