'coz mahen and nikila considers Gauri as their daugther, and his palak is a spoiled brat, and mahen disowns her and shiv and all hold Gauri responsible for tht and 'coz of Gauri Shiv goes to jail. Eventhough in the episode he was introduced he went to jail.its his third home. 1. Kapoor house. 2. pubs and 3. Jail.

He goes to jail Kaya meets with an accident, which was actually done by Vivan, but he goes and Shiv who had come after him sees Kaya and takes her to the hospital, Gauri who hadcome after 😕 him sees him takin her in the car, but doesn't see Shiv, but manages to see his car number and when polices question her in the hospital abt the accident she gives the no to them, but she didn't know it was Shiv's car and he gets arrested.And shiv to save Vivan takes up the blame for him.
