I think the story follows the track of movie "Silsila"

I think shiv and Ipshita are in love but as his kundali doesnt permit him to marry her, he married Gauri. Now maybe Ipshita and anupam will get married under circumstances and gauri will be dedicated to Shiv and anupam to ipshita. But as Amitabh and Rekha these two love birds may continue loving each other.

And may be in 2020 they will realise their mistake and return to their partners.
