Chapter 7

Office boy: Khushi madam wo Arnav sahib apko apne cabin mein bula rahe hai. Urgent hai.

Khuhsi: (sipping her drink from the bottle) Unse kahiye ki hum busy hai!

Office boy goes out, After few minutes Arnav and His secretary walks inside her cabin, Secretary places a bunch of files on her desk! Khushi looks at the secretary who looked very sad and scared,Khushi keeps her bottle at the side!

Arnv: ye pichle ek saal k accounts hai, saare files ko scan karke, pure details muje naye files me lake dena hai, by tomorrow!!

Khuhsi looks at those 20 huge files

Khushi: (shocked) itne saare??? Nahi.ek din mein humse nahi hoga!!

Arnav looks at the secretary

Arnav: ok fine Ms. Sharma, Your fired,!!

Secretary: (pleading) please aisa mat kijiye Sir! Main sab kuch karlungi, ye saare files main settle karlungi! Please sir please!!

Arnav: nahi!! Khushi hi karegi, agar ye files kal tak complete nahi hote thn Your Fired!! Ab tum log deciede kar lo! (he walked out, Secretary looks at Khushi, Khushi feels guilty, she looks at the files and opens it)

Scene shifts

Mumabi Railway station

Taani quickly rushes through the crowd and gets in the train to go home! The train was crowded too, she was struggling to find a place to hold on. She was in the general compartment, so there was definaelty no chance to find a seat there! The trains starts moving slowly and suddenly a guy jumps in the train, All the people start grumbling at him,Taani tries to see who it was but was unable to see him.

Taani: aaj kal k ladke bhi pata nahi kyu itna matar gasti karte hai!! huh…

Rey pushes everyone and struggles and makes place for him and stands next to Taani but her back was facing him. Suddenly another guy tries to pass by pushing Rey over Taani's back. Taani bangs a fat; irritated female.She looks angrily at Taani

Female: Kya kar rahi hai ap? Khadi nahi reh sakti kya thik se?

Taani: wo sorry…galti se..

Rey recognizes her voice and turns, Taani was holding a support with one hand and swinging left and right just saying sorry to the female who was removing all her frustration on Taani, he holds Taani's arms and makes her face him. Taani looks at the hand holding her and then at Rey! she was shocked seeing him there, Rey Looks at Taani and then at the female,

Rey: (to the female)agar itna hi problem ho rahi hai toh agle station pe utarke dusri train le lena! Ya phir apke liye ek khali boogie book karwau???Aaram se jane milega!

The female makes an irritated face and looks in the other direction, Taani was still staring at Rey, he was still holding her arm, slowly she leans on the wall of the train. People keep moving, Rey moves closer to Taani giving them space to pass. She was confused, she couldn't figure out what was Rey doing on this train,at the same time she was confused with Rey's behavior. The way he walked out of the class and now he was holding her arm and standing so close to her, with loads of guts, she finally deciedes to ask.

Taani: wo..aap..yaha.. Train me kyu travel kar rahe hai?

Rey remains silent and doesn't look at her, he keeps looking left with a serious expression, Taani understands that he doesn't want to speak and so she also looks at the opposite direction with a sad face.After few minutes of silence Rey takes a deep breathe and answers

Rey: (not looking at Taani)main ye Train roz leta hu, mere apartment tak jane k liye yahi ek route hai.

Taani: (confused) apartment??

Rey: (annoyed, holds her arm even more tight, and looks straight in her eyes which were filled with pain cause his grip was hurting her) Stop acting as if you care!

Taani: (with faint tears in her eyes) aap aisa mat kahiye wo

Rey: (cuts her) please taani!! Agar itni fikar hoti toh tum lucknow nahi jati, muje yu akela… (he couldn't speak)

Taani's eyes were filled with tears now,she couldn't say anything , he leaves her arm and tries to move backward when her chain locket gets stuck to his button. Both of them look at the locket, it was the one he had given her, for a moment he gets stuck, he keeps looking at the locket and then at her, he for a moment forgets all his anger,he remembers the day he had given her this, this was his lucky charm locket! Taani slowly lifts her hand and tries to untangle it from his buton. He keeps staring at her as shez struggling there, she was nervous and sad, she couldn't look at him although she knew he was staring at her!

Raizada group of industries

It was 8 o clock already, Khushi completed her last file, Engrosed in her work she didn't notice the time, She was the only person left in the huge office. She feels tired and stretches her arms and looks at the watch,

Khushi: (casually) 8 baj gaye!! (again starts typing, stops and looks at the watch again with her eyes wide open, and gets up from her seat with a jerk) 8 baj gaye???? Hey devi maiya, hume kisine bataya kyu nahi? (she immediately takes her bag and runs and opens her cabin door, the whole office was dark, no lights at all, only her cabin lights were on wid which she could see half of the office, she holds her bag tight and starts walking out slowly, scared, she keeps turning back every minute to check if thers some1, she takes baby steps to move forward. Suddenly she see's a shadow besides her, her heart beat reaches to the maximum, she starts sweating and turns to look but there was no1 there, she looks at the shadow again,

Khushi: Hey devi maiya!! Ye toh humari hi parchaiyi hai!!

She reaches near the staircase that was leading her to the ground floor where there was the exit. But it was very dark there, she couldn't see anything. With great guts she starts walking down the staircase! She looks at the office downstairs, the darkness was making her more scared. She sits on the staircase,

Khushi: nahi, hum aur agey nahi jayenge!! Itne andhere mein koi bhoot preth hua toh? devi maiya ka lakh lakh shukar hai ki sirf 8 baje hai, agar 12 baj gaye hote toh ab tak pakka hume kisi aatma ne kabu kiya hota !! hey devi maiya! Aaj bhooto se bachalena! Kal se pakka apko kabhi kisi ki bat k liye pareshan nai karenge.(she rest her head on the wall, holds her bag tight and closes her eyes to avoid looking at the darkness)

Scene shifts

Train haults at the last station. Taani was still struggling to untangle her locket from his shirt, And Rey didn't shift his eyes from her for even a second. Finally she succeeds. She holds the locket tight and looks at him. She looks around,people were getting off so she moves away from the side and gets off the train, Rey was stuck, he just stands there for a few seconds, several thoughts were running in his mind, why was she still wearing it, she didn't care for him so why didn't she take it off? , he quickly gets off the train and starts looking for her, but the place was too crowded, he walks out of the station hoping she would be there, but she wasn't there.he was shocked but he felt some kind of peace within him, he was actually happy that she still had that chain with her,before he didn't want to see her, but now he wanted to speak to her, wanted to ask many questions, wanted to spend time with her. With several thoughts in mind he walks towards his home.

Scene shifts

Taani opens the door and gets in, the lights were off, she realizes Khushi was not back yet

Taani: (worried) Khushi ko itna time kyu lag gaya? Ab toh 9 bajne wale hai. Wo toh 7 baje hi ghar pohochti hai! Arnavji ko phone lagati hu, shayad unko pata hoga. Par Arnavji humse baat kyu karenge? Wo toh humse nafrat karte hai! Par khushi gayi toh kaha gayi? Hey krishnaji Khushi ko kaise dunde ab?

Finally she picks up her phone and with loads of guts dials Arnav's number, as the phone was ringing Taani's heart beat was increasing,she holds her locket tight, Finally Arnav answers. As soon as she hears his "hello" automatically she disconnects the phone and looks at the phone screen. She was breathing heavily as if she just heard a horror story!! Finally she takes a deep breathe, and redials the number,

Arnav: Hello!!

Taani: (scared) Hello…Arnavji, wo main Taani, wo actually Khushi ab tak ghar nahi pohochi, so muje laga ki apko

Arnav: what the! Kya Main tume koi inspector lagta hu jo tumne Khushi ka missing complain file karne k liye call kiya hai? Khushi missing hai toh usse dundo, muje call karke apna time waste kyu kar rahi ho? tume kya main uska secretary lagta hu jo uska har time ka update rakhunga? Aur jo tumne aur tumare bhai ne mere di aur mere family k saath kiya hai uske baad how dare you speak to me? Muje call karne ki himaat kaise ki tumne?and by the way Khushi agar missing hai toh ye iss duniya k liye ek good news hai!

Taani: wo.. (beep beep beep…Arnav had disconnected the call already, Taani was expecting all of this , so she wasn't shocked or surprised, but now she didn't know what to do, she sits near the door, just staring at it in the hope Khushi would ring the bell any moment.

Arnav: 9 baje gaye, KHushi ab tak ghar kaise nahi pohochi? Kahi office me files complete karte reh toh nahi gayi na? Damn it!

scene 2

Scene shifts railway station

Rey quickly enters the train and starts looking for Taani! He see's her standing, he keeps staring at her, she looked fresh, the train starts moving and her silky straight hair starts playing with the breeze.

Rey: (smiles , to himself) I was right, Taani roz issi train se travel karti hai!!
