Vineet Raina excited about his Bollywood debut with Shabd
Vineet Raina, better known as Veer of Maayka, is all set for his debut in Bollywood with the flick Shabd - The Shadow of a Woman.
"This female-dominated film with newcomer Reshma Singh is now on the edit table and we hope to release it by end of this month or early next month. It deals with the early marriage of village girls and then sent to the zamindars (landlords),"says Vineet.
The actor who last seen in Punar Vivah also has no issues with the fact that he does not have much to do in the above mentioned film that also boasts of Mahima Choudhary and many theatre artistes. Avers Vineet, "Since director Sandeep Solanki is a good friend, he offered me this role when I was doing the above named Zee TV show. But had he asked for more dates, I would not have been able to accommodate him in the first place," he adds.
Here Vineet adds that Shabd is not his only big- screen offer. "I am also doing a Zombie film called No Exit directed by Vipin Parashar. It will release in a while as we still have some VFX work to be done in Singapore."
He however discounts that No Exit is similar to the just released Saif Ali Khan's comic Zombie flick Go Goa Gone. "Our film is much more of a serious kind that has a controversial theme at the end. So better watch out for it," he asks.
Vineet, who has also done Nach Balliye 4 and Do Hanson Ka Jodaa among others, will not give up TV post-films. "I am looking for some good small screen projects as well. At the same time, I am also considering a few Punjabi films. Let's see what happens. Medium and language irrespective, the Punjabi film industry is really on a high these days," he ends.
