Why was it so difficult for her to divert attention from him?
Yes. She enjoyed his company.
Yes. She liked spending time with him.
Yes. She felt blissful with him around.
Yes. She could not deny the fact that past few days, were the best days of her life.
And the fact that this birthday had been the best one was undeniable. She had a great birthday party after so long.
She couldn't control herself. She couldn't distract herself. She couldn't stop thinking and cherishing the time spent with him.
Was she in love?
Sharon, are you seriously in love with Swayam? She asked herself.
She wanted to get rid of these kinds of thoughts that were constantly bugging her. She had never been in love and neither wanted to be in love, because according to her boys were the biggest betrayers.
Swayam isn't a betrayer. Her inner voice spoke. All boys aren't same Sharon.
Yes. Her heart agreed. He's a bit lazy, careless, at times clumsy too, inattentive, lethargic, but he's cute and well' captivating and attractive, in some way. There's something about him that is so simple yet so attractive.
Sharon couldn't believe that she was thinking all this. Was she seriously into it? The same Sharon Rai Prakash who used to go on disparaging love and always gave everything else more importance had finally fallen into it? Like seriously?
She still didn't want to accept it. But her heart had accepted this feeling. Swayam had managed to break the boundaries of her heart and enter it, placing himself in a significant position.
Her confused dilemma was obvious, but she was very close to finding the answer. She was so in love with him. It took her a bit more time to finally come in terms with her feelings.
She had never been in love. This feeling was extremely different and the most beautiful one she had ever experienced. She shared certain camaraderie with Swayam. That feeling of friendship and trust had finally turned into affection and had formed an unbreakable bond between her and him.
She had finally inclined towards him. She was in love'.with him'. With Swayam Shekhawat.
She sat up on the bed and sat in a cross legged position. It was indeed blissful to be in love. It was so different to be in love.
Next moment, she found an idiotic grin playing on her face. Kriya entered the room at that very moment.
"Why do I sense something weird going on here?"
"What's weird?" She tried to hide her smile.
"You smiling without any reason?"
"I just remembered a joke. That's why I smiled. Nothing to do with you." Sharon said, shamelessly dodging the actual reason and Kriya's suspicion.
"Really?" Kriya said suspiciously. "Who told you that joke?"
"Swayam!" Sharon exclaimed with immense happiness. Her smile grew wider.
"I knew it. I just knew it that something is up between both of you."
"What?" Sharon was shocked. "Just because I remembered a joke told by him doesn't mean that there's something going on between both of us."
"It doesn't. But yes, I have many more instances to prove this."
"What nonsense Kriya? Nothing like that. I'm going to drink water. You better go to sleep."
Sharon got up from her bed and went out of the room. Kriya smirked and walked towards her bed
Thank god, I covered it up in front of Kriya. I should talk to Swayam about this. I don't even know if he feels the same about me or not. I'll have to talk to him tomorrow. Sharon thought resting her hands on the kitchen platform.. Just then, she heard some voices, from the living room.
"I think he'll be the best choice for Kriya. We know his parents from a long time now." She could hear her dad saying all this. Had he finalized the right boy for Kriya? She was happy, yet sad. Now the wedding preparations would start. And finally in a couple of months Kriya was going to bid adieu to her house.
"I feel the same but I think we should hide this from her. We should talk about this to his parents." She heard her mom saying. Why were they planning to hide this from Kriya? It was her wedding and she deserved to know what was going on.
"I think you are right." His dad agreed.
Sharon didn't wait there to listen to the rest of the conversation. There was a slight trace of doubt in her mind. What if the boy is Swayam? She thought, but shoved off this thought pretty soon since she knew that her parents knew about Swayam and his careless antics very well.
She went up the stairs to her room. Kriya was reading a book and maybe simultaneously texting someone. Sharon didn't bother to ask who it was.
Suddenly, she heard her phone ringing. She checked who the caller was. Who had dared to call her at 11 pm?
It was Swayam. She knew it. Only he could do such things. A slight blush crept up to her cheeks.
"Hello." She tried to sound her normal self even though she was quite excited.
"Sharon, I just wanted to ask. Are we on good terms? Are we ok?" He spoke. She could make out that his tone was optimistic.
"Yes. We are." She smiled as she said this.
On the other hand, Swayam mentally thanked god as he heard this. Thank god Sharon wasn't too upset. He smiled.
"Cool then. Good night." He said.
He was about to hang her up when she spoke something else. "Swayam!" she said. She seemed a bit excited and desperate about something.
"Yes?"
"Please come early tomorrow. I want to meet you. I want to talk to you."
"Sure but why?"
"I'll tell you tomorrow. Got to sleep. Good night." She said.
"Good night." He said. She hung him up.
"Who was it? Swayam?" Kriya asked her after she cut the call and made her way towards her bed.
"Yes." Sharon said sitting on the bed.
"You called him early tomorrow?"
Sharon nodded her head.
"Why?"
It was not like Kriya was teasing her for the first time. Sharon knew how to get out of this mess. "For a project. We have to make a presentation together." She cooked up a story.
"Project on love?" Kriya teased her.
Sharon glared at Kriya. "Kriya, stop teasing me. I don't like it."
"Okay fine." Kriya said and switched off the lights.
Swayam lay on the bed and thought about what she had said. She wanted to meet him. Why? He hoped that everything was alright. Well, it was a matter of only a few hours now.
Sharon slept peacefully, after a long time. She had been having sleepless nights off late but that day, she seemed cozy on the bed.
A loud message tone woke her up. She had no intention of waking up since she had finally sorted stuff out in her mind. She sat up on the bed.
"Kriya, you haven't slept yet?" She said rubbing her eyes. "And whom are you messaging at this hour of night?"
"Go to sleep Sharon." She said.
"No. Tell me whom were you texting right now. Why can't you share your secrets with me?"
"Fine. It is Rey."
"Rey who?"
"Arey Reyaansh Singhania. We met him in Swayam's party remember?"
Sharon's mind traveled back to Swayam's party where she had spent some time with Swayam. She remembered about Swayam introducing her to a friend.
"Reyaansh? You got a nickname for him?"
"Yes. Rey sounds short and sweet."
Sharon gave her a 'what are you hiding from me look' , although it was hardly visible in the dimly lit room.
"Go to sleep Sharon."
Sharon didn't bother to intervene into her personal life and went to sleep again.
Swayam looked at his watch for the fifth time. Why did time move so slowly when something exciting was going to happen?
Sharon had called him early. But she hadn't specified the exact time. He had come an hour early and Sharon was nowhere to be seen.
Swayam frantically began dialing her number for the nth time but he didn't realize that someone was actually making her way towards him.
"Hey. Good morning." Sharon smiled at Swayam.
Swayam didn't respond at first. He was unnaturally mesmerized. Either she had done something to herself or she looked cheerful after a long time. He couldn't make out the actual reason. She was looking beautiful and cheerful after a long time.
"Good morning. " Swayam gave her a smile too. "Why did you call me so early?"
"Well.. I hope I didn't keep you waiting." Sharon looked at him expectantly.
"No no." Swayam hid the fact that he was waiting since the past 35 minutes for her.
"That's good. I wanted to...tell you something..."
"Sure go ahead."
Sharon, for a moment got skeptical of her decision. Was she doing the right thing by telling him the truth? What if he didn't feel the same? She had fallen in love for the first time and she neither wanted to impose her feelings on him nor wanted to be in such a relationship where one person wasn't happy.
"Actually... Nothing." She said.
