Shahrukh Khan to grace Vijay Awards

Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan seems to have confirmed his presence for 7th Vijay awards to be held on 11th May in Chennai. TheBollywood star making it to the awards function will boost his upcoming flick 'Chennai Express' which is set to hit the screens in the coming months.

The film features Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles and this is the second collaboration between Khan and Padukone after the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om. Chennai Express is about a man's journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens along the way.

The Vijay Awards are presented by the Tamil television channel STAR Vijay to honour excellence in Tamil cinema. It has given annually since 2006. The awards are decided by a jury, consisting of noted filmmakers, critics and technicians, while winners in a separate category named "Favourite awards" are chosen by public voting.

They are regional awards...awards the best of tamil cinema 😊 ..I think he is promoting Chennai Express there 😊

hmm okk den he shud dub it in tamil lyk ra one!! or else hindi films are nt popular down south as the language is the barrier

yes they are not popular there but I guess SRK has a bit of his fan base there ...

As long as they haven't made fun of the south indians in the movie ...who knows people might enjoy it 😕

a movie is earning 120-150crs n evn more nowadays without exploring down south so that market is yet to be penetrated...so easily a 25cr -35cr market can b captured frm andra,tamil nadu karnataka and kerala..so i guess srk is talking a chance as its also south indian based film and in ra one he also played a south indian character!!! so hees promoting himself on that region!!!

I feel he is quite popular down south compared to other bollywood actors... but hopefully the audiences of south enjoy the movie
