She might not go to shashank willingly... But circumstances might force her to do so... Again chances are that shiv will return back and she will have to choose one....

I think Shahsank didn't know abt Gauri dying when he left the mandap. That part was told to him by Devika when he returned.

But what he did was unforgiveable. Taking money was bad enough but to do so to buy his mom a house???? I could understand if it was to save her life or something...but to do so for something so materialistic..........
