ViBul Drabble ~ Colours

One mistake. One trap. One video clip. And the whole of his world crumbled in a moment.

Never had he imagined that his past demons would come back to haunt him in such a way that his only dream would lay shattered in front of his eyes on the very day he thought he owned the world.

The moment he'd gotten married to Anika, all colours in his life disappeared. All that remained was grey. He felt as if all his life had been sucked out of him.

He looked at handle of the fridge, at his hand on top of hers. The hand he'd promised to hold for the rest of his life. Hanging his head in shame, he slowly withdrew it, letting bitter cold take over the warmth she provided. Just then, he felt a tug. Her hand was holding onto his. He raised his eyes to meet hers.

One gesture. One smile. One blink. And just like that, his world was back afloat, breathing colours away to glory.
