These 2 lines carried a world of meaning in them. One of the things I love most about SC is its in-depth dialogues, which are just like its characters - more than meets the eye.
Hum saath chal sakte hain? It's as though Saras is asking Kumud the thought that has been bothering him ever since he realized his feelings for her - will we work? Can we ever be happy together? Will we last? All his insecurities regarding not only this relationship but every bond dealing with love come bubbling to the forefront - will we survive or will our relationship break, just like with my mother?
And Kumud's answer - Haan. Chal sakte hain. She is his silver lining, the only ray of light in the darkness he has surrounded himself in, a personification of hope. Yes, we can be together. Yes, we will overcome all the obstacles in our way. Yes, I'll always be by your side.
This scene reminded me of Kumud's dialogue in the first SC promo: "Baghwan ne humein aik doosre ke liye banaya bhi hoga..toh bhi aik doosre tak pahaunchne ki koshish humein khud hi karni hogi."
