MAHADEV

Jalandhar is shocked that nobody knows about Mahadev's origin. Shukracharya tells him the story of Lingobhav, but for his benefit, refuses to reveal the person who can kill him. Later, he's shocked to know that Shukracharya is a devotee of Mahadev.

Yah shukracharya and and all other danavs worship MahaDev mainly. They consider Vishnu as their enemy.

This Jalandhar is quite different from other Ds😆

BTW I have a doubt how were Danavs classified-

1)Born in Danav race makes him/her Danav?

2)Any person having Danav qualities is called Danav?

3)Disciples of Guru Shukracharya were only called Danavs?😆

Children of Aditi were Devas, Diti- Asuras, Danu- Danavas, all were rishi Kashyap's wives. Jalandhar is shivansh, can not be called an Asura or Danav. Shukracharya made him Asura's king, seeing his anti Deva tendencies.

Thank you for sharing
Shukracharya tells lingodbhav... Will they show the same scene then? The story said to Menavati?
And not related to the main topic.. but quoting SRUJAconscience,
Why do all the asuras hate Vishnu so much? Vishnu, why did you do this to them?

1) We can consider Amrit sharing incident after Sagar manthan and death of Shukracharya's mother as the reason...

2)In more appropriate terms...

a)Lord Vishnu is the InnerSelf (Brahman) of all.

b)The devas are compared to the higher realms/parts (heavens) of our brain/mind.

c)Asuras to the Sense organs/lower worlds.(Naturally sense organs run for material objects and oppose the experience of inner self).

Giving immortality to the sense organs is like getting opiated. So, Vishnu preferred the devas over asuras.

Though, devas are considered elite, our parts of our brain/mind (speech, memory, intellect ) etc. can also run wild when we are endowed in arrogance, after achieving things (power, status, knowledge, money etc.). So, Indra and other Devatas and even good asuras like Bali, were challenged when they get lost in ego.😊
