Just had a look into the The Best Fresh Face poll conducted by Tellychhakar with all the nominees of ITA in this category.
Surbhi with 58%(1019 votes) was way ahead of her fellow nominees. Disha had 24% votes. The rest of the nominees(Ekta, Roopali, Asha) had even lesser no. of votes than Disha.
When the majority of viewers were in the favour of Surbhi, its difficult to understand that how couldn't this likeability convert into votes?
Nevertheless, when the established (and ofcourse talented) Drashti Dhami could be sidelined, SJ is only a beginner in the television industry.
Even the prestigious Academy Awards have displayed bias and prejudice(political not monetary), how could the ITA awards stay far from this vice.
Awards only encourage the actors and assures them that their work is being liked and appreciated. Alas, Surbhi will have to find her encouragement in that No. 2 standing of 'Qubool Hai' in the TRPs chart.
