After Ravi Chopra's Viraasat, the next show that is going off air to make way for Kaun Banega Crorepati? is Balaji's Karam Apna Apna.

Says Shailija Kejriwal, senior creative director of Star, "Since KBC is going to be the main attraction in the prime time slot, two shows have to wind up and make way for KBC. Karam Apna Apna along with Viraasat will probably go off air, at least for the first thirteen weeks after KBC is launched."

But how can a channel sacrifice a popular show like Karam… at the altar of KBC? Says, Dorris Dey, creative director of the show, "I do not want to comment on KBC's impact on our other shows. We are yet to be informed regarding the fate of the serial."

How have the TRPs of Karam… been, so far? "The TRPs of the show has been high, better than some other hit serials. We are trying for an alternative slot, but we are yet to figure out all the possibilities," says Shailija.

Pallavi Subhash, aka Gouri in Karam…, seems clueless about the developments. "We have not been informed by the production house about the show going off air. As far as the success of the show is concerned, it is doing very well," she says.

Thx for info. I hope they wont sacrifice kAA, because thsi serial is better than soem others.

oh i so wish none of this was happening. because if kbc goes on air, then kaa will come only come back after a couple of months if ever. i have free time only know and after a couple of months i will be busy. i have to give up my obsession of watching kaa. oh i dont want to do that. 😆 i do wish iqbal doesnt leave, but i think he will anyways, so now i shall go shed some tears after another day of bad news. we are so anxious about gauri and shiv relationship, on top of that these other worries. 😭

they will probably just change the time of kaa its too good a show to cut

I've even more hopefull now of an Iqbal return....

i just hate the star plus people 😡 how can they sacrifice sucha popular show just for a show which has not even started.
atleast i am not goin to watch kbc on cost of kaa. 😭 😭
