Till now, Meera's presence and Nandini's statement that she was a special guest at the party led to the circulation of two pieces of gossip. The first one was outright stated, that she and Balraj were an item. The second one, the one with more truth to it, was subtly hinted at and wondered by some of the party people; and why wouldn't they, the way Balraj introduced her, the hesitation as to how to introduce her, etc etc. Remember how one lady questioned Meera on whether she was also Nandini's close friend.
But then comes Agastya's fight with Meera's harasser, his making an even bigger spectacle with his gun, and then the way Agastya gave the explanation for his behavior. (Even though Agastya only pulled out the gun once he had been attacked, not--as Agastya's answer to Balraj and Akhil's words to Agastya implied--because the man was harassing Meera.)
Not only that, there was Meera, who with authority in her voice told Agastya "enough, Agastya, lower the gun." It's another matter that Agastya didn't heed her words. (Agastya also didn't heed Balraj till Balraj repeated a second time to lower the gun, and even then Agastya brought the gun back up again.)
The sisters mentioned how this party will make its way to the society pages. So now there will be a third speculation, gossip about Meera. Perhaps it's the one that will emerge as the major gossip. The gossip will be regarding Meera and Agastya.
This may be an advantage for Balraj. If he is so confident that he can take care of everything once Meera gives birth, and Agastya won't turn on him or at the very least that Agastya can never succeed against him. Plus if Meera and Agastya were to be married Balraj would have the haq and adhigaar over Meera, or so he would think.
But the problem with the scenario is still why Meera would agree. Agastya may be more open to it, but even with the advantages for him and his own plans even he may have reservations about Meera coming under Balraj's "rules." As he himself said to Balraj, the biggest hurdle Balraj can't order around Meera.
I know Meera just earlier had been "talking" to Anirudh that she nor her child would have any respect from the people at the party, but still it seems off that she would ever agree to such a match unless she fell in love with Agastya. And I don't see her falling in love with Agastya so quickly.
I actually would hate to see Meera come under Balraj's adhigaar. Even if a marriage were to happen, Meera is independent enough to not be cowered like that with Balraj. So in that respect, Balraj, even with a marriage, would probably have to keep up his facade and manipulation of Meera rather than be the "whatever I say goes, obey my rules" person he actually is.
And then comes the other part, Agastya and Biji eventually would have to tell Meera the truth about Balraj. I get why Agastya is not, but I don't understand why Biji isn't. However, the closer Agastya gets to Meera and it becomes a legitimate relationship, then the more inclined he would be to let in on the truth.
Edit. I Googled and I finally understand how "apni/apna/apne" are used. I get what Agastya was saying now. So I'll just end my post with the last line of the episode. 😆
Woh meri problem hai, bhayya. Apni problem kaise solve karna main achi se janti hoon.
