Is Bombay Talkies playing at a theater near you?

Is it?

Aashiqui 2 was not playing ANYWHERE in my city, which I'm still upset about.

Seems like it's going to be the same for Bombay Talkies b/c I checked the theater's website today and it only has showtimes for Shootout at Wadala. Even Nautanki Saala and ETD are still playing.

The Bollywood fan in me does not like this. Why aren't these movies releasing worldwide?

I don't know how this movie business works, but it's more expensive to distribute movies worldwide, no? Maybe the producers are worried that Bombay Talkies won't do good business outside of India and ergo, loss in profits? No idea.

Sucks though. I really wanted to watch it. :(

Yea that makes sense but then why do they play movies like Nautanki Sala here? I'd think that movie would be made on a tighter budget.😕

Sounds plausible but then isn't Bombay Talkies made on a really low budget? I'm still not going to ruin it for myself by watching a crappy print online (same for Aashiqui 2)...and Netflix takes a LONG time before having them available.

YJHD better release worldwide though. 😳

I guess T-Series was ready to take the risk with Nautanki Saala and had confidence in Ayushmann to pull in crowds after success of VD. Viacom18 on the other hand, probably didn't want to take the risk with Bombay Talkies. And I guess Vishesh Films thought no one outside of India would want to watch two newbies romance on screen. 😔

It's really hard to think about what goes on in these producers' minds but I wish they did some research and saw how many people outside of India were excited for A2 and BT! =/
