Punjabis in Bollywood.

As is known to all and sundry , Punjab forms the soul of the Hindi film industry and its culture. Who, in your view, is the greatest ever Punjabi to grace Bollywood? From the Kapoor family scions to Akshay Kumar, from Rafi to Mukesh, there's quite a list to choose from. Type away. 😛

Well there are just.. TOO many lol! Definitely more than half of Bollywood has Punjabi roots or blood 😆

It started with the Kapoors and now there is Akshay Kumar, who has mostly played Punju characters in Bollywood.
The Punjabi tag is always accociated with him and the Deols obviously, there is a lot of respect for Dharmendra and everyone loves him there.. though he has never done anything for Punjabi cinema or Punjab itself apart from representing it. I personally don't have much respect for that man.

There is Dara Singh, the true strong hero! Gulzar, the epic lyrics writer. And ofcourse Yash Chopraji, he also used to give all his movies a Punjabi touch. And all of them went on to become blockbusters.

From songs to words like "balle balle, kudiye etc".. Punjabiness and Punjabis are everywhere in Bollywood, and thats a pretty big achievement for people who represent only 3% of the total population in India 😳

What is this topic about?😆 My favorite Punjabi BW star is Akshay Kumar but I think everyone knows that by now. 😆

In Bollywood, non-Punjabis and Punjabis are like needle and haystack. 😛 Imagine jotting down all the names from 100 years of cinema.
