With property prices zooming in Mumbai, it isn't the best time to buy a flat. But Gautam Rode has gone ahead and bought a house for himself. "I loved this place so much that I decided to go ahead and invest in it," he says.

"My friends were telling me to wait for the right time. But, there's nothing like a right time. I've been waiting past two years! The rates are just not dropping. So I decided to go ahead. I couldn't let this flat go," says the actor who plans to shift in to his new home by the end of the year.

Gautam came to Mumbai seven years ago. "At the time, I was looking at modelling. I never thought of buying a house here. But four years ago, when I made up my mind that acting was the career I'd pursue, I decided to settle down. But then I didn't have the means. Now, I've finally done it." What does he have to say about the recent tirade against people coming from outside to Mumbai? "The entertainment industry is here. We have no choice but to come to Mumbai. This city is wonderful and welcomes everybody with open arms. I'm very happy that Mumbai is now my home," he says.

And what's on the personal front? Is there somebody special in his life and are there wedding plans? "Yes, I am getting married, but in my TV show this week! In real life, not right now," he smiles. Work's keeping him busy, he says. Currently he is seen in serials like Baa, Bahoo Aur Baby and Simply Sapney . Bollywood too is on actor's mind. "Offers are there, but none that I've really wanted to take up," he says.
