| | | | WHAT'S HAPPENING? Eijaz Khan | The last one year has been hell for actor Eijaz Khan. While dealing with impossible shooting schedules and trying to balance a number of simultaneous shootings, Eijaz also had to deal with a hysterical female fan who claimed she was pregnant with his child. Says the actor, "I don't want to give her any importance by mentioning her name or talking about her. In fact, I'd rather let the matter rest and hope it dies a quiet death." On some persuasion, Eijaz opens up on the issue. "I'm no stranger to attention. Even though Kavyanjali has gone off air, people still remember me from that show. Even now, all the calls, messages and mails I get are about Kavyanjali. I started keeping a separate cell-phone devoted only to fan calls. That's when this problem started." Keeping tabs Eijaz says that this lady's attentions began nicely enough, but she then began to keep tabs on his movements. "That's when I began to distance myself. That didn't go down well with her. She became so persistent that she knew exactly where I was at any given point of time. She even knows my home address, a detail that my colleagues at Balaji Telefilms aren't aware of," he says. Now the lady claims she is pregnant with his child. "I don't know you can impregnate someone without meeting them. She also claims that I threw juice on her face at a party, but I would never misbehave in public, that too with a lady!" Eijaz has no clue how to solve this crisis in his life. "Now, I've become a master of crises. I'm sure I'll find a solution though." He can take comfort in the fact that almost all popular male actors on television have obsessive female fans. "Maybe," Eijaz concedes. "But I'm going through a very critical stage in my life and career right now. I'd rather not have such over-devoted fans!" |
