Chapter 22:

Zoya: Asad. Mat jao.

Asif: ZOYA! You're awake.

Zoya: yes Asif. Can you please give me and Asad a minute to talk. Alone.

Asif: But Zoe...

Zoya: Please.

Asif: Alright. I'll tell the doctor.

He gave Asad a dark stare and left the room.

Zoya: Why did you come here Asad?

Asad: Only for you.

Zoya: But you're engagement was supposed to happen this week right?

Asad: I broke it.

Zoya was shocked and yet a bit confused.

Asad: Shukria found out that real story of Tanveer and helped me a lot to get rid of her. She is the one who bought the ticket and gave it to me. As soon as we heard about your accident, we decided that I would go *his voice softened* and bring you back.

Zoya was tearing up but she tried to hide it. She knew that she had to keep strong.

Zoya: But, Asad, I'm engaged now.

Asad: Was our love that weak Zoya, that you got engaged in a less then a week?

Zoya: You tell me Asad. Was our love that weak that you couldn't tell your ammi that you loved me?

Asad: Do you still love me Zoya?

Zoya looked up into his eyes.

Zoya: Why should it matter now. Even if I do, I can't do anything about it.

Asad held her hand.

Asad: Run away with me. We can live together, forever. I can give you every happiness in the world.

Zoya had thousands of emotions inside of her. She loved him, but at the same time she was engaged to her best friend.

Zoya: I can't.

The 2 words hit Asad harder than ever. He let go of her hand.

Zoya: Asad. I will always love you, no matter what. But Asif is my best Friend. I can't break his heart like that.

Asad: So you can break mine?

Zoya: He proposed to me first.

Asad: But you loved me first!

Zoya: Just forget me Asad.

Asad: Do you even think that's possible.

Zoya started to feel dizzy once again. She held her head trying to stop herself from fainting. Asad saw this and right away took action. He rubbed her back and gave her a glass of water that was sitting on the table beside her. She drank the water as Asif and a doctor came in the room. The doctor came and checked up on her health.

Doctor: She is doing much better, but don't put any stress on her. Her health is still weak and anything can happen. So you must take care of her.

Asif: Thank you doctor. I will take good care of her.

Doctor: No problem. Come with me so I can prescribe you some medicines and do the formalities because you can take her home today.

Asif: Sure doctor.

They both left the room leaving Asad and Zoya in the room alone again.

Zoya: Where are you staying tonight?

Asad: Probably at a hotel.

Zoya: Stay over at my place.

Asad: Your an engaged girl and you want a guy to stay at your house over night? I rather stay at a hotel.

He left the room and went towards the elevator.

Before going near the elevator, he bumped into Asif.

Asad: Oh sorry Asif.

Asif: Oh it's okay. Where are you going?

Asad: Just going to book in to a hotel and het the keys.

Asif: Oh I see. Asad, if you're not busy tomorrow, would you like to join us for the celebration party for our engagement party?

Asad: I wont be able to?

Asif: Why not?

Asad: Because I'm going back to India tomorrow

Asif: That fast? What time is your flight?

Asad: Around 2: 00 pm. Now if you excuse me, I have to go.

Asad walked away into the elevator and then to the main floor.

**The next day**

It was about noon and Asif's family was getting the house all decorated for the celebrations. Asif went to Zoya's house to pick her up. He walked in to the her house as he always knew that she kept a spare pair of keys in the plant outside her door.

He walked into the house to see Zoya sitting near the window in a blue and silver Anarkali suit with the guitar beside her. She had tears running down her face and her eyes were red.

Asif: Zoya?

Zoya cleaned her tears and looked up at Asif. She tried to smile, but it was clear the her smile was forced upon her face.

Zoya: Asif, You're her already? Let me just grab my stuff and we can go. She got up and was walking past him to go into her room when he grabbed her arm.

Asif: You miss him right?

Zoya looked up at him.

Zoya: Who are you talking about Asif.

Asif: You know who. Why are you doing this Zoya. If you know you love him, and he loves you, then why are you forcing yourself to be far from him.

Zoya: But Asif..

Asif: No buts' Ms Zoe. You know you love him. So go and get him.

Zoya: But Asif. I don't even know where he would be right now. How will I find him.

Asif: Airport. His flight is at 2: 00 today.

Zoya: What time is it right now?

Asif checked his watch. Its 1: 17. If we go right now, we may make it.

Zoya: But Asif, Our engagement.

Asif took her hand and took off the ring.

Asif: And now we are Unengaged. Now let's go ZOE!

Zoya hugged Asif and they ran outside to his car.

They got to the airport at around 1: 45.

Zoya got out of the car and bent down to Asif.

Zoya: *Talking really fast* I just want to say thank you Asif and-

Asif: Go zoya now!!

She smiled and picked up her anarkali a bit so she could run better and ran inside. She had her passport in her hand and bought a ticket at the main desk.

She went to terminal 1, where Asad should be. She ran around looking for him. Her hair flying behind her. She went up to the desk to ask if a Male named Asad Khan had checked in but they refused to give an answer.

She was walking back when she bumped into someone hard causing herself, the man and his suitacase to fall over.

They both got up.

Zoya: Oh im so sorry.

The man looked at her.

Asad: Zoya?

Zoya: ASAD!!!

She hugged him tight, leaving no air space between them .

Zoya: I found you Asad! I found you!

He hugged her back.

Asad: You found me Zoya. You really did.
