Forbes released an article today about the controversial burning of the Harry Potter books. The series has often been the target of many Christian fundamentalists who claim that "Rowling has a world platform." Over the past five years, half a dozen book burnings have been planned, their organizers claiming that the books (as well as Potter fan sites) promote witchcraft. Ray Bradbury, author of Fahrenheit 451, defended the books, saying, "there's nothing wrong with the Potter books, because they're not promoting witchcraft. They're promoting being wise."

I've heard that thing about witchcraft before-OMG its like we're living in the Middle Ages! I really doubt whether those ppl who talk about witchcraft have ever read the HP books! It's a book for leisure reading after all. 😉

witchcraft is not easy. if u want to fly y to use broomsticks, fly in aeroplane. the books are only for funn

I dont understand wat their problem. The book is written just for amusement and fun. It does not teach us any black magic or stuff like that. 😡 😡

Why cant these ppl instead of worrying about this utilise their time and energy in more useful things like world peace and global warmimg 😳

can't they get any other book to talk bout.. i know HP is all famous and kool and rocking.. but puh-lease..

it's really sick and disgusts me when ppl say all tht.. i mean we are just READING.. it's not as if we will actually go out finding witches and wizards.. give me a break !
