"The Baabul game is bound to generate more interest in the film," said Amitabh Bachchan as he launched the mobile and online games of this family drama at Hotel J W Marriott.
Producer-director Ravi Chopra was the only other crew-member present as Rani Mukerji was away in Varanasi shooting for Pradeep Sarkar's Choodiyaan, and the rest of the cast remained absent.
"I did play video games long ago, but haven't kept pace for quite some time now," said Bachchan whose day is too hectic for any other person to fit in so many activities.
However, he did concede, "I do play with my grandchildren and they beat me," not shying away from admitting, He said that ShahRukh Khan had given him a new game, "Which I've kept packed because he said he will set it up for me."
When asked about the garlanding level in the mobile game of Baabul, he said wryly, "I'm past the age of garlanding anyone, so I can only be a spectator now." Interestingly, while Mauj Telecom developed the mobile game, the online version was created by Hungama.
Bachchan was also quizzed about the title track by him missing from the album, which contains the Jagjit Singh rendition. He gave the microphone to Chopra, saying he was the best person to answer the query. The director said, "Amitji recorded the track just a day before the soundtrack of Baabul was launched. And he wasn't in town when the album was being compiled." The subsequent batches do contain Bachchan's rendition.
"If I sing, you will all run away," joked the actor adding, "I'll tell my staff to get the cd from my house." The legend kept his promise and got the cd from his home and played it for all to hear.
