Are These Coincidences Or Is Boxofficeindia Fraud?

Has Boi been using 'rounding off, technique for collections to benefit some actor's films (sharukh, akshay, aamir) and undermine others (salman), especially for their most important films. afterall there is no way so many coincidences are possble, scintifically speaking

1989 – at 14 cr maine pyaar kiya falls miraculously short by 1 cr of the round figure of 15 cr. 15 cr also by the way wud have meant that MPK broke sholay (unadjusted) record which most mainstream media had reported at that time, pegging collections at 18 cr nett ( 3 cr per territory on an average). mpk's 14 cr comes in an age of non-computerized ticketing where movies played for months in the interiors on some prints. important to notice that the only two significant sources that recorded collections were bachchan loyalists ramraj nahata's FI and b k adarsh's trade guide whose figures boi accepted happily for mpk but to build up srk it left no stone unturned in undermining amiatbh's biggest films.

1990 – dil grosses a comfortably rounded figure of 10 cr.

1994 – hum aapke hain kaun the 2nd biggest hit in the history of bollywood falls just 1 cr short of round figure of 70 cr nett and 2 cr short of round figure of 125 cr gross. the collections are reprted at 69 cr nett and 123 cr gross. the ticketing is still non computerized and important to note that hahk played (genuinely, not for records sake like ddlj) for two years in theatres across india. but the collections were reported so 'accurately' down to the last ruppee to wind up at 69 cr nett, 123 cr gross.

1995 – the very next year dilwale dulhaniya le jaayenge crosses the round figure of 60 cr by just 1 cr. rather convenient, isnt it?

1995 – the same year sabse bada khiladi 'nets' a round figure of 10 cr, comforatbly.

1996 – though the gross collections of raja hindustani are rounded off at 85 cr, the tax structure dictates that the nett cant be. to make the net into 50 cr a 'ghapla' of 5 cr in gross collections is needed, which is tough to hide.

1998 – kuchh kuchh hota hai whizzes past the round figures of 45 cr nett and 75 cr gross with a very narrow margin.

1999 – hum saath saath hain falls 2 cr short of 30 cr nett and biwi no 1 falls 1 cr short of round figure of 25 cr. the ticketing is still non computerized in most circuits except a couple of multiplexes in delhi and hssh and biwi no 1 are the kind of films that work more in interiors. but boi manages to be 'accurate' once again.

2001 – gadar crosses the round figure of 75 cr comfortably. this i guess is not to help sunny, but to undermine hahk. at 74 cr the gap wudnt look wide enuff, wud it?

2002 – devdas a 50 cr budgetted film manages to cross the round figure of 30 cr by just 2 cr.

2003 – kal ho na ho nets a round figure of 30 cr. period. yes it worked mainly in urban multiplexes but recording of collections this 'accurate' is amazing isnt it? i mean why an 'impotrtant' srk film can never wind up at 34. 75 cr?

2003 – the same year andaaz does 'exactly' 15 cr, not a rupee less, not a rupee more. thus making akki sir cross his first ever milestone in life.

2004 – veer zaara does 'exactly' 40 cr. again they seem to have counted to the last rupee.

2004 – but salman's mujhse shaadi karogi falls short, belive it or faint, by a mere 50 lakhs of a round figure of 30 cr. important to note that though most multiplexes have computerized ticketing by now, salman's films still work more in interiors with non computerized ticketing. still how boi managed to count till the last ruppee is amazing. and yes! the fact that akki sir was the comedian in msk didnt matter. apparently undermining salman was more important than buliding up akki sir.

2005 – by now you wudnt be surprised to kno that no entry falls short of round figure of 45 lakhs by just 2 cr.

2006 – don crosses the round figure of 50 cr by just 1 cr, netting 51 cr. kabhi alvida na klehna crosses 45 cr by just 75 lakhs. akki sir's phir hera pheri does 41 cr and bhagam bhag does exactly' 40 cr. now you may ask that i was only taking the biggest and most important films so how are php and bahagmbhag important. well akki sir's important films are like that only. note they are his biggest grossers in his supposedly 3rd best year.

2007 – it surprises me no end to see that om shanti om falls short of round figure of 80 cr by just 58 lakhs. does is have anything to do with the fact that by now akki sir is on a full fledged media campagin to prove he is no 1. no wonder welcome crosses 70 cr by, u guessed it by a narrow margin of 75 lakhs.

2008 – rab ne bana di jodi crosses the round figure of 85 cr like a breeze. surprsingly ghajini reprted to cross 115 cr by 1 cr to net 116 cr is now showing 114 cr and a few lakhs at boi.

2009 – 3 idiots crosses 200 cr by just 2 cr to net 202 cr

2010 – my name is khan not only crosses the round figure of 72 cr (which is expected by most readers by now) but also gets 'rounded off' at 200 cr worlwide 'exactly' to be able to make it the 1st shrukh film to gross 200 cr worldwide.

2011 – don 2 not only nets 107 cr to cross 100 cr psychological deadline' but its worldwide gross is 206 cr to somehow also make this one a member of 200 cr club.

2011 – that disaster called ra1 had to be entered to the 200 cr worldwide club as a small part of its huge marketing budget must have come to boxofficeindia too. so it 'grosses' 202 cr worldwide. 'exactly'.

2012 – jab tak hai jaan, somehow or the other manages to cross 100 cr to clock 101 cr nett domestic. last year a film like singham was 'stopped' at 99 cr though its very obvious it worked more in single screens with non computerized ticketing.

2012 – this one takes the cake and made me think of this post. though most sources stopped ett at 199 cr to keep the 3 idiots recoird safe, boi stopped it at 187.no sweat. but but but, dabangg 2, that 150 cr monolith falls short of round figure of 150 cr by just a few lakhs. all i can say is SHAME ON bas***dS OF BOXOFFICEINDIA.

for, there is no way there can be so many co-incidences, invloving the biggest films of the stars i mentioned. i kno many of you, calling me a 'conspiracy theorist', wud rush to show how many films of srk, akki sir and aamir did just a few cr less than an important round figure and how some salman films have clocked a few lakhs more of a round figure (partner may be) but remeber i am talking of the most important films of stars that make a difference to various records (like the 200 cr worldwide club etc). still though boi today 'lets' a wanted cross 60 cr, a daangg 140 cr and a ready 120 cr, wen it comes to imporant films and important records, we can see wat it does to dabangg 2.

i wonder even if dabangg 1 had done 10 cr more, wud boi have 'let' it cross 150 cr. and wat wud have happened if dabangg had done 60 cr more and 3 idiots record was in danger.
