TOI: Actors who became successful as host-GR

Some television actors, who have starred in various serials, have risen to fame when they turned hosts for reality shows. Recently we sawKaran Wahi and Gautam Rode hosting Nach Baliye 5, Rithwik Dhanjani in India's Best Dramebaaz, who are now more popular after their anchoring stints. Hosting has helped them in connecting with the audience in a better way. Whether it was their spontaneity or extrovert nature or pleasing personality, PT asks them about what has made them click as hosts of reality shows.



Gautam Rode
As a host: India's Got Talent (season 3), Nach Baliye 5
He first made his mark on television when he played an NRI in the show Baa Bahoo Aur Baby.Later on, he was also seen in a show Lucky. He also did Bollywood films like Annarth, Agyaat. But nobody really knew him until he was seen hosting the dance reality show, Nach Baliye 5where he wooed the audience and manged to gain a huge fan following as an anchor. He feels that he has got due recognition as a host. "I have done several shows on television, but interacting with the viewers on a personal level is an altogether different experience. As a host, one needs to understand the concept of the show and cater to the audience expectation. One needs to take the audience to an altogether different level. You need to be high on energy, then only you can be successful as a host," says Gautam who is currently seen as the lead in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's show Saraswatichandra.
