The episode starts with Meera going to Alaka's room and cries a lot admitting her fault. If she hadn't gifted that box to Sonu, then all these would not have happened. Alaka tries to console her syaign that it was not Meera's fault an dthat this had to happen. She then tells Meera about how when she was young, whenever she felt bad, Alaka would tell Meera the story of a princess and her mother. The princess used to be sad and used to cry sometimes but this broke the Queen's heart for whom every pearl of tear of her daughter was very important. The Queen would then try to make the Princess laugh and when finally the Princess laughed, the Queen used to be very happy and she would find flowers in the Princess' laugh. Meera embraces Alaka and they both cry their hearts out. Shantanu watches them through the window.
At that moment, Yash comes and calls Shantanu to his room for a talk. Shan tells Yash how could Yash side with all wrong-doings in the house, when he was very well aware that what happened is wrong. Yash tells Shan that in the house the right to decide anything right or wrong was vested with Ammaji. Shan tells Yash that he wants to go back to London since his ideologies and views do not match with those living in the house.
Gauri is very happy that they are going away that very day but Abhi tries to buy time for two more days and is not very happy. Also Meera had promised that she would take them for a sight-seeing of Benaras. Gauri is hardly interested and says that she is more interested in returning back to their home. At that moment, Shan comes in and tells them that they two would have to stay in the Bharadwaj House for one more day because of unavailability of tickets. But he would leave that very day since he had some important work to do.
Ammaji is sitting in a daze on her seat in the hall, while Suli and Ira are sitting nearby to her discussing about the happenings of the day and how Alaka has managed to spoil everything. Yash comes and hears what they are saying and scolds Ira. He then tells Ammaji that Shan was leaving. Ammaji is shocked to hear this. Shan comes to her and bends down to touch her feet. But she walks away from Shan saying that for a person who doesn't have any respect for culture and tradition, the custom of touching his Mother's feet would also not make any sense. Ammaji walks away from that spot.
Ammaji goes to her room and opens an ornate trunk and takes out a photo album. She sits sown in a chair and opens the album. It contains Shantanu's photos. She hugs the album to her chest and weeps inconsolably.
Meera goes to Shan's room who is packing his suitcase. She takes out all his clothes from the suitcase and tells him that Meera wont let him go away from Benaras. Shan is very angry and tells Meera that its better to accept fate and follow tradition. The fact is that Alaka is a widow and she has to accept all the rituals and bondages that come along with it. He also says that the whiteness of her dress is splaying black colour on them. Meera is very angry with Shan and tells him that she thought that Shan was a different sort of person since in the entire house, he was the only one who questioned about the hollowness of the customs followed. Meera had thought that this clarity in Shan's approach would help Alaka and Meera in the house, but he has truned out to exactly the same as others. Meera offers to take him to the gates of the House and asks him never to come back. Shan stands in a daze in the hall where Meera has kept his suitcase and gone away.
Alaka comes down at that moment and tells him that she understands very well why he had said all those harsh words to Meera, otherwise Meera would not allowed her to go away. Both of them stand there with tears in their eyes. At last, Alaka walks away and Shan's eyes are brimming with tears.
Meera is sitting in the terrace when Shlok comes and tells Meera that Shan Uncle had left his bag behind. Meera rudely asks Shlok to go and give it to Shan, but at that moment Shlok trips and Shantanu's bag falls open. A handful of loose pages flutter in the air and blows all over the terrace. Meera picks up one page and finds that it contains a poem by Shan dedicated to Alaka. Meera is shocked. She collects all the pages and reads them. She comes to the conclusion that Shan Uncle was the one who had borught romantic overtures in Alaka's life before he went away.
