Everybody in the Bharadwaj House is busy with the preparations for the Katyaani Puja, which is basically a Puja for unmarried woman. Meera, Aki accompanied by their female family members and several other young women from the neighborhood participate in the Puja together. Panditji tells the assembled women about the origin of the Katyaani Puja and how Goddess Katyaani became the sixth avatar of Goddess Durga, according to the holy scriptures of the Puranas. Even Gauri took part in the Puja.
After the Puja is over, everybody is sitting and gossiping amongst themselves when Abhi comes along and starts flirting with Meera, who was decorating the central water body in their hall at that time. Abhi tells her that as per his promise he had written a poem for Meera depicting the condition of his heart and he fishes out a piece of paper from his pocket. Meera asks him to recite his own poem. Abhi starts reciting but after he reaches the third line, Meera automatically completes the fourth. Abhi is surprised but Meera asks him not to be surprised since she knows very well that the poem was written by Shantanu Uncle. Abhi is stumped and tries to say something but Meera stops him by saying that he couldn't even write a poem for her.
Meera goes away towards the idol with her Puja thali and Abhi also gets up. But as he is about to turn, he bumps into Gauri who is wearing a salwar. Gauri smiles at him sweetly and tells that since Abhi is nowadays too much engaged with girls wearing Indian dresses, she had also decided to wear the same. Abhi senses Meera listening to their conversation and decides to taunt her. He tells Gauri that he had written a poem for her and even recites for her. Meera is not at all happy and she tries to go away but Abhi catches her hand while speaking to Gauri. (Guys this is the scene from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, when SRK holds Rani's hand while comforting Kajol over her lost love). The three then start dancing to the song 'Radha Kaise Na Jale' from Lagaan. All members of the family have assembled in the hall to see the three of them singing and dancing, Alaka also watches them from behind a pillar and is very happy and keeps on smiling. Shan sees her smiling and he's also very happy.
At that moment, Subhadaraji (Meera's Nani, played by Apara Mehta) enters the house.. Alaka sees her first and is very happy and goes and embraces her. Meera is also overjoyed to see her and rushes towards her to greet her. Ammaji welcomes Subhadra to the House. Ira also welcomes her but taunts her that now that she is in the house, she should spend some time imparting some education to her daughter to behave accordingly in the house and not create obstacles at each phase. Subhadra answers back by saying that 'Aap jise abshagun kahe rahe hain, mein use ittefaq kahena chahti hoon'. Ira is stumped but even then she decides to tell something more, when Ammaji stops her and sends her inside to help in preparing breakfast and stuff.
Subhadra goes and meets Ammaji who was sitting in her usual place, on a jhoola, in one side of the hall. Ammaji asks Subhadra whether she doesn't respect culture, tradition and customs and so doesn't see any wrong in her daughter's doings. Ammaji advises Subhadra to spend some time with Alaka and teach her everything as to how to lead a widowed life. After Ammaji goes away, Shan comes and meets Subhadra and embraces her lovingly. Subhadra is also very happy to see him.
Everybody in the house has gathered in the hall to play a game, as per Subhadra's insistence. The members have been divided into two groups – while one group would think of the name of one person and give a clue, people from the other group had to guess the correct name. Both Ammaji and Alaka are not parts of the game. Subhadra and Meera are now very excited and plans to see how Shantanu refuses to acknowledge the influence of Alaka.
The game starts with Aki and Shlok guessing about Yash and Suli, respectively. Meera then decides to guess, and says that the clue is that 'this person loves watching peacocks dancing during showers'. She leaves a few other clues, and both Shan and Alaka are terrified and shocked, since Meera had been guessing about her Mom and was leaving clues that only Shan could know. Everybody keeps on second-guessing and Meera and Subhadra decides that they start counting reverse and the other team will lose. When they reach 1, Shan blurts out Alaka's name. Everybody is stunned. Subhadra looks up to see Alaka's eyes fill with tears and she walks away from the Hall, even Ammaji notices Alaka leaving.
Alaka goes and cries in front of Lord Krishna and asks him as to why he's doing all these when she is trying hard to do away with her past and how scandalous would it be if other members of the family come to know of the real reason. At that moment, Ammaji reaches the Puja place and tells Alaka that she has understood everything and the truth is open in front of her. Alaka is shocked.
