IIHTA Award Clarification!

Today's Times of India (Delhi Edition) has the lowdown on the HHITA Awards;

Rohit Roy won the Best Actor in the Popular Award Category

Ram Kapoor won the Best Actor in the Critics Award Category

Prachi Desai won the Award for Best Newcomer!

KS won the Best Serial in the Critics Award Category / Saat Phere won the Best Serial in the Popular Award Category! Will put up the entire list of awardees later on!

Btw, I can't believe how on Earth could Rohit Roy get the Best Actor Award, in whichever Category! Do they mean that Rohit Roy was more popular than Ram Kapoor? RK should have won the Awards in both the Category, he more than deserved it!

I think Viraasat (which should have been one of the best serial winners definitely!!) is an excellent serial - the dialogues, the acting, the storyline and everyone's performances are first rate - but compared to the other nominees i agree, ronit roy was perhaps not the best choice!

i think "popular" category means the one that the audience voted for on the internet - i guess the teeny-boppers were voting more for looks than performance - as in the filmfare's!! 😡

I dont even know who Rohit Roy is .... from all the shows that i have seen so far ram is best 😳 ... ram kapoor has done a great job 👏

Completely agree with you there. It definitely was rigged as they seem to have a fall out with Ekta thus Rohit Roy won the best actor popular awards abd Saloni the best actress where as I think Prachi deserved it and KS for best serial popular as well as critic.
