The Don strikes back By: The hitList Team November 28, 2006 The Don strikes back
His timing couldnt have been better. Over the weekend, while everyone was raving about Hrithik Roshans super act in Dhoom 2, could everything be quiet on King Khans front? Of course not.
Knowing King Khans penchant for catching everyone unawares (and diverting attention from the current talk of the town to himself), his PR machinery went into overdrive proclaiming that SRK is taking over Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 from the Big B.
A similar thing had happened when Rang De Basanti had released too, and SRK appeared on the front page of a newspaper as the guest editor, hogging the limelight away from Aamir.
Now, Star Plus thinks it has a prize catch in SRK, even though theyve been worshipping at the altar of Bachchan all this while! And to think that once upon a time SRK hobnobbed with Zee. Yawn. Sallu superimposed!
| Rekha in Muqaddar Ka Sikandar | The on-air promos of Nikhil Advanis Salaam-E-Ishq have Salman Khan mouthing the lines Salaam-e-ishq meri jaan zara kabool kar lo, tum humse pyar karni ke zara si bhool kar lo.
Thats the song from Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, from which the film takes its title. But we have to say, its funny (in a weird sort of way) to see Sallu speaking those lines. The only thing that comes to mind when we hear those words is Rekha doing the mujra to this track.
Oh, and Sallus hair! He looks like he put his hand into an electric socket before coming on the sets to do the scene. Even hair gel cant make hair stand up that way!
KJo wins another award
It looks like Karan Johar is soon going to have to build a cupboard to hold all his awards.
On November 24, the filmmaker won yet another award: the Teachers Achievement Award for his vast and varied body of work in the Media & Entertainment section. Other prominent personalities from sports and business were also felicitated.
Were wondering if the media part means that KJo is secretly planning to become the editor of a newspaper.
But Karan laughs, No! But after doing Koffee With Karan, I do consider myself a journalist and I feel for them.
As for the host of awards this year, he says, Yes, thats a great way of telling me that Im growing old! Karan adds, But I love winning awards. I love giving acceptance speeches!
Golmaal 2 in Pune
| Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Sharman Joshi in Golmaal | No, were not talking about the film. Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and Ajay Devgan were shooting in Pune for different films when they decided to catch up for some gossip.
Last Friday, the trio was spotted in Punes Sun n Sand.
Says Tusshar, We were just chilling out, drinking and cracking jokes, just like the way we did in Goa while shooting for Golmaal. We had great fun then. | Where are my guests, dude? | | | | Ayub Khan, Niharika and kids | | Sagarika with her son and hubby | | | | | Homi Adjania | Vikas Bhalla and Siddharth Koirala | AD Singh and Rahul Bose | | Brunch is the only thing thats going to get our celebs out of bed on Sunday morning. But the sixth anniversary celebrations at restaurateur AD Singhs Olive Bar & Kitchen turned out to be a damp squib with Bolly biggies giving it a miss.
The usual suspects were Vikas Bhalla and Manisha Koiralas brother Siddharth cooking up a conversation at the bar. Rahul Bose made quite an entry dressed in a purple shirt. Homi Adjania managed to hide his blood-shot eyes behind oversized shades.
This time around, we spotted kiddos playing hide and seek at the restaurant: Ayub Khan and wife Niharika walked with their two kids in tow. Shaans sis Sagarika also made a surprise entry with her son and hubby. | Vatsal turns biker dude
Vatsal Sheth, who debuted in Taarzan C The Wonder Car with Ayesha Takia, is acting in Samir Karniks Nanhe Jaisalmer, Hostel and Mera Bharat Mahan.
Vatsal is so excited about the action in Mera Bharat Mahaan that these days hes been busy learning to ride cruiser bikes. Thats because he wants to look super cool in the films heavy-duty action scenes.
Says Vatsal, Every evening, I zip off to improve my riding skills. Its great fun!
We bet it is. After Dhoom, John Abraham cashed in on his biker image and how! Vatsal too must be thinking the same. | | |
