Later as some have said, when she came a tad closer to his vicinity she stole some looks at him and did smile but instantly moved her face away to make him seem she didn't give a damn!

More than just her ego I feel she also feels self conscious interacting with Saras.

She fel for him the day she saw just his eyes. From then on she only kept falling for him further whether she realised it or not.

She doesn't know if she can make him change his decision about her. Yet she is head over heels in love with him abd truly grateful to him for whaever he has done for them. So she perhaps behaves a little rude or pretends to ignore him to protect herself from the pain she will feel when he finally leaves and somehow stop herself from getting to attached to him.

I feel her show of anger at him is just a cover up for her helplessness to make him change his decision and her inability to prevent herself from loving him.

She always tries to ignore or make reasons to hate him (to console her heart) but he always does something so noble for her or her family that she ends up falling harder for him and it gets more difficult for her to gather herself.

She is exceedingly self conscious around Saras due to that conflict in her aching heart! Dil kya kare?
