Parents are everything. For most of us out here. Then, there is that breed as well for whom parents are the start and end of everything. They can sacrifice anything , anyone for them. Simply because their existence is centered around them. Meet Asad Ahmed Khan and Zoya Farooqui.
Asad , as it has been emphasized , shown and worded time and again in the story puts his mother above everything. Dilshad is the most important person in his life and his love and undying loyalty to her surpasses everything and everyone in this world. No Zoe, No Tamaatar, No Rashid, No Ayaan can ever be on the same throne as Dilshad for Asad. He is hypersensitive about his mother. He has lived the pain of his mother - her struggle, her loneliness, her rejection by her soulmate, her tears, her humiliation and her devastation.
And who brought this destiny upon his mother? Gaffur Siddiqui and Razia Siddiqui. They destroyed every single happines of his mother and their life. Asad is full of so much gall and hatred for them that he would rather die than ever see their faces or step into their home. So intense and moving is his love for his mother that he even made concessions to his own resolve and went to that house just for her sake.
Tomorrow, if Asad is to find out that Zoe is Gaffur's daughter and Zoe wants to be with him and that home, how will he embrace her? No matter how much he loves Zoe, how will he horse-blind himself to the injustices done to his mother and connect himself to that house? How will he put himself and his love first and tell his Mom that its cool to marry Zoe - so what if she is the daughter of the man who destroyed our lives? Meet them, become relatives, get family photographs clicked with them and behave as though nothing happened between our families?
No. Asad cannot do that and its against his character. He loves Zoe but loving Zoe does not mean that he will have her as his wife pushing the hurt, angst and pain of a good 25-30 years under the carpet. Loving Zoe doesn't mean forgetting what his mother was put through and embracing the Siddiquis. If Asad has to make a choice , he will choose his mother.
And Zoe? She is DESPERATE for her father's love. She wants to be embraced, loved and accepted by her biological father. That is why she came to India, bore so many problems, tolerated Asad's antics - just so that she can be with her father. Asad is her destiny but Zoe, as of now, thinks the roadmap ( Gaffur) is her destiny. Now, tomorrow, if she finds out that her father is alive , and he opens his arms and house for her, why won't Zoe go running in there? To have a family , a house, a surname that is her own?
Gaffur is a grey man and he is responsible alongwith his wife for destroying Asad and his family. He is the reason that Dilshad dealt with years of suffering. Why will he let his daughter be with the man who is his sworn enemy? Why will Gaffur even allow Zoe to think of Asad? And why won't Zoe abide by her father's orders and wants? His approval and acceptance and his love is what she has craved for. Blood bond emotions can make Zoe go against her own heart and surrender to his will.
If Zoe has to make a choice between Asad and Gaffur , she will choose Gaffur at the prelim level at least.
In short , soon, the thing standing between Asad and Zoe will be their love and undying loyalty towards their parents.
