Chapter 18:

Zoya and Asif both picked up her stuff from the trunk and brought it inside her apartment. She put the stuff on the side and went to her room

Zoya had a guitar in her house, but never knew how to play it. Well not until now. She grabbed it from her walk in closet and brought it to the living room. She sat on the sofa and started to strum. Slowly slowly she got a tune and began to hum. Her humming then tuned into singing.

Asif noticed that she had tears in her eyes and went to her kitchen and poured her a glass of water. He walked out of the kitchen and passed it to her.

Asif: here take this zoe

Zoya took the glass of water and drank 2 sips and put the glass down on the table

Zoya: Thank you.

Asif: I thought you didn't know how to play the guitar.

Zoya: I didn't. But then... He taught me

Asif knew who she was talking about. He kept quiet as she had flash backs of her birthday, and his singing. Then the Sangeet. 'Why did everything have to end' she thought.

Asif finally broke the silence.

Asif: So how was your plane ride?

Zoya didnt notice he said anything. She was too busy thinking of the khan mansion and all the happiness she lost.

Asif: Zoya? You okay

Zoya came back to her senses

Zoya: Huh, did you say something?

Asif: Forget what I said. You tell me. Are you okay?

Zoya: I'm fine.

Her voice was a bit shaken.

Asif: You can lie to anyone but me Zoe. Your my best friend. My Zoe bear. Just tell me

He got up and went and bent down near Zoya. He wiped her tears and held her hand.

Asif: Its going to be okay. Just tell me.

Zoya started to cry even more. She got up to go to her room but he stopped her.

Asif: Its never good to let your pain stay inside. Sharing it with a friend will make you feel better. You trust me right?

Zoya: Of course I do But -

Asif: No buts' just tell me.

Zoya: I dont know Asif. I just cant do this anymore. Everyone I had ever become close to left me. All alone. I just want to be happy. Can't I just ask for that much. Just happiness? I'm sure one day you'll be far away from me too.

Asif: I will never leave you. No matter what tries to pull us apart. I will never leave your side.

Zoya: But you can't gurantee that

Asif: You have to believe me.

Zoya: I believed everyone and they all left me.

Asif: Then come with me. Leave this painful world of yours and lets make our own perfect world.

Zoya looked at him in shock. She wasn't sure what he quiet meant, but she sure hoped it wasn't what she thought.

Zoya: I dont understand.

Asif got down on knees and held her hand.

Asif: I mean, will you grow old with me. Will you share your every happiness and tear with me. Will you MARRY me?

Zoya paused. What just happened.

**Back in India**

In the khan mansion, everything was back to normal with one little change. It was a bit silent. There was no laughter or surprises. No hugging or singing. It was just a 'dead' feeling. As if all their happiness was taken away from them.

Asad was most quiet. He couldn't help it but stay in his room and break down. He finally learned how to live, and now his life was taken away from him again. He hated the fact that he never said no to the proposal. For if he did, Zoya could have been with him right now, in his arms. Smiling brighter then the sun. But he couldn't do anything. It was his best friend. How could he be mean to her?

All of a sudden the phone rang.

He cut it. He was not in the mood to talk. The phone rang three more times but he continued to cut it.

Finally on the fifth call he picked up the phone.

Asad: Hello?

Shukria: Hello, Sir? This is Shukria. We need to talk.

Asad: Shukria, im not in the mood for work

He was about to cut the phone but then shukria said something that caught his attention

Shukria: Wait sir! This is about your friend and Zoya!

Precap: The truth of Tanveer to come out tomorrow !

Oh yeah thats right. Tanveer, you can go meow meow in someone else's story!
