As for Gumaan she is too evil to b right in any instance!! She is more into her vested interest to even give any credit to her hollow talk. But yes I agree with Guniyal slapping her daughter n Saras also needs to get a gud reality check!!

Well I'm non Indian dunno abt the book. Muskaan's POV is accepted n respected though I am not keen to see the exact replicate of the novel. I'm loving Kumud the fiesta n bold n bright gal. A breath of fresh air!! It will b so out of character if she sacrificed herself n married another man for dunno wat sake n then VC is shown as such a broad minded person will he accept to make her daughter the sacrificial lamb?
Anyway my take is reinventing, adding up a bit of one's imagination n style n touch is also part of creativity!!

SLB is doing the same thing. He has changed the entire setup but still wnats to gain audience in the name of SaraswatiChandra: the novel.

Yes..I am a Gujarati. And, I have read the novel too.

But, what I think is that SLB should have at least amintained the originality. Or, else, what was the need to adapt..?? There are n number of shows which are based on self-generated concepts. SLB wants to gain audience esp Gujju people in the name of the Classic Novel.

Well dear u do have a point in saying that SLB wants to attract Gujju audience n to top the TRPs. Who won't want that? But of course u n all those who may b started watching the show to see Saraswatichandra on celluloid got disappointed n felt "cheated"
I cannot really discuss abt it coz I have not read the book

The only thing which is annoying me is the so-called adaptation. When you are least interested in showing the original story, what is the point in adapting then..??

Even Saathiyaa is targeted for Gujju audience. This is fine because it is not claimed that Saathiya is an adaptation...
