Kokila and Gandhi's 3 monkeys

I find it irritating that Kokila is subjecting her bahu Gopi to such "punishments". in todays day and age, who does that? It is humiliating and demeaning women. kokila can't be shown to overpower and overturn all decisions in the modi household. She herself is a choti bahu then why such an overbearing personality. The modi household has a very oppressive culture with respect to the bahoos. They should change the track.
