PART 1 ~ The Begining

Striding past the long, wide, security protected gates of one of the most dreaded locations of New Delhi a well-built man in his 20's acknowledged the watchman with a curt nod. His long fingers hastily tapped a code into one of the many doors in the building leading to the stairs. As he started making his way up the stairs he heard a merry voice greeting the watchman.

Romil a very happy go lucky guy with a flirty personality was once again late to work. He quickly greeted the watchman as he made his way up the stairs of "The special Investigation Force" office only to collide with a special rock hard chest.

"So much for trying to be early today!" he sarcastically mumbled hoping his boss would spare him one last time.

"Well mister Romil if your little rant is over then can we proceed up the stairs" came a stern reply.

The automatic glass doors opened and stepped in a very sheepish looking Romil with the chief of SIF ACP Arjun Malhotra. Romil made his way to the laboratory to be accompanied by his geeky yet beautiful friend Ovi who was a forensic expert.

"Hey Geeky, whose body are you ripping off today" asked Romil and winked at his friend who was at the moment busy with some kind of chemical and gave him you-are-never-going-to-be-serious look.

"Techy you are early compared to your regular late timings" a reply filled with sarcasm was thrown at him. Both the team mates continued with their verbal war until they were interrupted by someone.

"And I guess if the sarcasm war is over, we might proceed to SIF emergency room. An emergency meeting is being called. Hope you guys heard the announcement that was being made seconds ago" a stern and commanding voice echoed in the cold and silent laboratory. Standing at a distance smart and tall, hand in pocket and brows twitched into a frown was Inspector Sachin Kapoor; he strode towards them lazily making the two gulp their saliva.

"Sorry sir, we were just joking and did not hear the meeting announcement. Coming after you sir" Ovi politely replied which earned her a curt nod from Sachin, before he left for the meeting.

It was a dark and cold room oozing fear, intensity, tension and thrill. The French Windows added life to the dull room while the big shelf full of crime novels and criminologist books could give a normal human a mini heart attack. Ovi and Romil entered the room quietly and grabbed a seat at the farthest corner of the big rectangular table but quickly changed it to front on getting an angry glare from Arjun.

"New case for us team. All of you must have heard about the on-going robbery that is spreading like fire across the country. I want all of you to grab a file each and start with your research quickly. Not to forget we are under a lot of pressure since the local police could not chase the criminal we are given that responsibility" a confident Arjun voiced the case before his colleague and waited for them to share their opinions and thoughts.

"Arjun it seems like a one men army. There is no gang involvement for sure, distinct to what media is portraying it to be" said Sachin after having a quick glance at the file.

"That's what I think. Look team the police have searched the gang angle thoroughly and it just points towards the fact that it might be done by just one person" Arjun agreed to what his team mate had just said.

"If we see it as one men army then I am sure the robbery has some kind of pattern. Gangs usually don't think deeply into such things, but if there is just one person involved then I am confident it takes a lot of planning and research" Romil presented his point in his usual demeanour.

"He/She must have changed places, possibility that his ID will always be anonymous for us. Many passports and official certificates, like the professional robbers" Ovi replied as a matter of fact.

"Great then we have a plan. It's been long since the last robbery happened, I am sure the robber is going to strike again. Be prepared with all your findings; try to search the crime scene as much as possible. We need to be two steps ahead of the robber" Arjun roared with full confidence and gave his colleagues the once in a life time Arjun grin.

After having a brief chat about the case and its procedure, Arjun strode towards his cabin chatting with Sachin. The two men seemed to be in a serious discussion which was obviously related to the case, their lazy gait and taking break after each step proved that the briefing between them two is going to stretch a bit far. The two peering soul Ovi and Romil decided to leave the conservation and let their seniors chalk out a plan for one of the very intriguing case.

At the very moment Arjun's phone rang, seeing the owner of that call he immediately picked the call and emerged into a thoughtful conversation. The frustration on his face was clearly evident as soon as he hung on the caller and being the understanding friend Sachin asked him the reason.

"Damn It Bro!!! He did it again, robbed the 18^th century Sword of some Maharaja" Arjun roared like an angry lion, making the whole office jump due to fear.

"From the Kala Devi exhibition Centre isn't it" Sachin asked trying to control his anger.

"The DIG wants an answer from me. We got the case Fu***ing few hours ago. Do I make a plan or no? Or just go and barge into any exhibition?" said a hysterical Arjun as he punched the chair in front him making it bounce inches away from him.

"Sorry I was just too occupied with my anger. Let's go guys. Romil I need the full detail about the security system. Ovi not a single corner should be left, I want each and every finger prints" Arjun loaded his gun and walked hastily ready to pounce on anyone that came his way.

"Do I look scared or what?" Romil asked Ovi, as they sat in their SIF jeep and eager to reach the crime scene.

Kala Devi Exhibition Centre, Delhi

10:30 am

The crime scene was completely sealed by the police. All the invitees and audience were made to sit in the waiting room and called for investigation one by one. No one had witnessed any kind of fishy behaviour from any guest nor was there an unusual thing to be noticed about. Arjun arrived with his team scanning the whole area, leaving no corner escape his sharp eyes. To add more tension a man in his mid-50 fainted which led to chaos and panic filled cries echoed in the room.

"Tell them to stop creating so much drama. Few more shrieks and I promise to lock them up" Arjun screamed through gritted teeth and that was more than enough for the people to stop with their hyper active screeching.

"Sir I had a look at the CCTV and the security system. Everything looks absolutely fine, no teasing with the system or CCTV camera. Even the laser protected glass box in which the sword was kept is as it is. Seems like a very smart robber" Romil gave the information he had collected so far.

"And do I need to know it. I want you to heck the security system bloody hell. Want to know how that robber managed to double cross the system." Arjun barked at Romil which made him fumble with his speech and he made a quick exit from there.

A slim and well sculpted figure in 20's clad in white shirt and black jeans made her way towards the investigation area. One hand carrying the latest Samsung I pad while other hand rested on her waist as she scrutinised the place with her devilish eyes.

"And if you know the rules than please stay out of the crime area. Or you will be charged for trespassing the crime area" Sachin told her before Arjun could chuck the day light of the new entrant.

"Purvi Shergill the new SIF member" Purvi said loud enough for others to hear and forwarded her hand for a handshake which Sachin accepted with a firm smile.

Soon enough Purvi also started her search and typed something in her I-pad. Her lips pressed together as she shoved her full concentration on what was being displayed on her I-pad. And as if she had found out some kind of treasure, yelled in happiness "Hurrah got a clue. The robber..."

But before she could say anything Arjun glared at Purvi which made her gulp her saliva, he tucked his glares in his pocket and moved towards her with calmness.

"Never share your clue so loudly, easy for the criminal to hear" he whispered clenching his fists.

"Sorry Sir, but I found out something very interesting about the case" Purvi replied meekly and hoped that would calm the Lion down and it surely did. Arjun closed his eyes and composed himself before giving a curt nod to Purvi.
