CAROL AND HINDI

I think a lot of people on this form do not understand the colloquial use of f*** in the context Carol used it. Actually, this is understandable as this context is used more often in the west.

Suppose I get forgetful in the kitchen and let some milk boil over. Lets say I shout and my roommate comes in to check. I may say to her

"S**t! I forgot to watch the f***ing milk!"

This does not mean that I think the milk is 'f***ing' or that I assign the bad word to milk. NOT EVEN 1 PERCENT. It is just a way of expressing my frustration at the milk boiling over. Carol used the word the same way; she definitely did not mean to badmouth hindi as 90% of the people on this forum seem to think

I understand what you r trying to say... but still that word is a BAD WORD... that's why you are not typing it here and using ** instead... it is not allowed here on the IF as well as on National TV... not even in west.. why?? B'coz it is considered as a bad word...

Using it as an expression is different... and using it for the language is different... it showed how much Carol hates Hindi... tell me can you use that word for your friends or for your country even as an expression?? I don't think so.. b'coz you respect your country and your friends... so why not respect your language.. and any language for that matter??

I can see your point... I was just imagining expressing, say, my frustration with my mom or daughter the same way... I cannot, seems too negative.

Exactly... that is my point... i understand that it is used as an expression... and why only in West.. i think now it is quiet commenly used in India as well.. specially by younger generation... but still you can not use it for each and every thing... you have to avoid it in certain cases... thus I feel carol should not have said that...

woah...wait a sec... am i getting it right, that u can express ur frustration towards ur mom by saying "i hate my f***king mom".. God forgive me even for typing this. 😡

Well it is acceptable in a way !! we must understand the way he's trying to address the point !!
But yeah its a bad word for sure but i feel for certain things it can be addressed in that way not for someone like your mom !!

we are notliving in west na we are indians most of the people belong to middle class and we dnt use such lang we are not supermodels also so this is not a comman word for us. for some people hindi may not be a sacred lang. but it is for me. so i dislike her saying those words.

i dnt wnt varol out only for that reason she is bitchy with the gals if all are saying it thn there has t obe some truth in it. bina aag ke dhua nahi nikalta and if she being a woman said bad things abt women as rakhi said thn i definately dont like her. she is as much diplomatic.

i agree...i still think he shudn't hav said it. but iunderstand y she did it though, cuz i also tend to used the word when i'm frustrated
