For a long time this plot has been occuping my minds. So before I could continue with my other story I had to pen this story here on IF.
He's married. So what!
Since his kidnapping Arnav Singh Raizada had avoided any other opportunities to make up for the missed appointment in London, as for him personally and his family the term 'London' + 'appointment' was connected with bad memories.
But due Bollywood and amongst others, indian dresses were not only popular by indians living in UK, but also non-indians and therefore the demand on the fashion market for indian dresses increased by every year. And being the number one fashion house in india, the frequency of appointment requests from clients in UK to AR Design also increased by the time. So much that in the end for the sake and reputation of his company ASR had to give in and agree on meeting the clients in UK.
It's not neccessary to mention, that no one in RM was ardent, when Arnav had told them about his plans for upcoming UK business trip. But Arnav had anticipated such reaction from his family and being the 'deal master' he had came up with a deal, which made it easier for the other family memebers to let him go.
All this has happened weeks ago and today ASR has got his last appointment at one of AR Design's oldest UK client, whose owner is Mr Ian Grantham. The appointment started at 10 o'clock and is scheduled till 11:30. The actual time is now just past eleven o'clock.
At the front desk there are three people working, one man (Sid) and two women (Pam and Sam). Near the front desk there is a waiting corner with seating-accommodation, where four young girls are sitting, all fours being indian.
Pam, Sid and Sam chating with each other, when suddenly their attention is taken to a beatiful young woman at the entrance.
Sid: 'Gosh, she is so beautiful. Although I prefer and love men, for her I would fall.'
Pam: 'Absolutely. According to her dress, she might be indian. Like the other four candidate there she must be a student, who has come abroad from india for studies and now, after recognising how expensive London is, has also come for the student job interview as translater. But as she would be the fifth candidate (C#5), she belongs to the other four candidate group, whose interview will be after lunch. Why did she come so early?'
Sam: 'She must be from one of the small villages in india, where I went as a child to visit my relatives. Maybe she thought the streets and the transport possibilities here must be like at her village and it would take hours to come here.'
And all three start laughing, while in the meantime C#5 has arrived at the front desk. She waits till all three stop laughing and just get to say the name Mr Grantham as she is cut abruptly by Sam.
Sam: 'Mr Grantham is in a very important meeting. Like all others you will have to wait till it's your turn. Take a seat over there.'
C#5 is taken aback by surprise and is going to say something, but then decides to go to the waiting corner and takes a seat. The other four candidates smiles at her and C#4, who is sitting next to her, asks her: 'Are you indian?'
C#5: 'Yes.'
C#4: 'Don't worry. They behaved in same way with all of us.'
C#5: 'It's ok.'
Therewhile at the front desk.
Sid: 'I'm not sure, but I guess, C#5 is wearing a unique indian dress. I haven't seen anything like this before.'
Sam: 'It's for sure from india and a common design there.'
Sid: 'But it looks expensive also.'
Pam: 'Maybe she has rich parents, who also finance her studies and stay here.'
Sid: 'In that case, why she want this job?'
Pam: 'Well maybe for the same reason Sam would like to do this job, if she would knew her mother tongue properly. Then like Pooja she would have been able to spend a lot of time around the hot and handsome ASR as Mr Grantham always wants to know, what's going on, even when the other party is talking in their mother language.'
Hearing the name ASR all five women look at the front desk and try to listen to three person over there.
Sam: 'My mother tongue is english as I'm born here and I'm british. Did you get it. But you are right, this would be a great opportunity as there is no other chance to get his attention and spend time with him.'
Sid: 'Forget it, there is no chance. I still remember some years ago, before you both started here, he came here for a meeting. And I was gone after seeing him and once, I don't know what happened to me, I tried also to flirt. But then I saw his angry eyes and till date I shiver remembering his gaze. And it was no different with the female side, he had no interest in them. And now he is also married.'
Sam: 'He's married. So what, this is no reason for me to not have a try.'
Suddenly there is a muttering in the waiting corner.
Pam: 'Hmm looks like in their eyes you have overstepped a ethical borderline.'
Sam: 'I don't care.'
In this moment C#5 stands up and comes to the front desk.
C#5: 'How dare you to talk like this about a married man. Don't you feel guilty.'
Sam: 'Calm down wannabe Miss India. If you will see him, believe me, you will not talk ...'
'Oh my God, there he is.' Pam cuts Sam talk to C#5.
Pam, Sam and Sid are watching straight forward and C#5 follows their gaze, turns around and is astonished to see the four indian women all looking in the same direction with dreamy eyes. She continues to look in the same direction and sees three person standing behind a glass wall.
An old tall man on the left, a young small indian girl in the middle and on the right ...
Since C#5 espy the so famous ASR behind the glass wall, she is not able to take her eyes off him and the thoughts going through her mind at this moment better should not be mentioned here.
Sam: 'Hey wannabe Miss India. What happened? I told you, didn't I?'
C#5 turns around and looks at Sam.
Sam: 'Come on, don't tell me, you aren't effected by him. Ok let's have a bet. I tried so much, but didn't get at least a smile from him. So let's see, if you can make him smile for you.'
C#5: 'Deal.', and she goes back to her seat.
A few minutes later the trio behind the glass wall appear at the front desk.
ASR: 'Did you get the mailed documents printed out?'
Sid: 'Yes sir. Here please.'
C#5 stands up from her seat and walks towards the front desk. She stops behind ASR facing his back and is about to move her right hand to his shoulder. Everyone at the waiting corner watching the scene stops breathing.
ASR at the front desk is reading carefully through the printed documents, when he suddenly looks up with surprise.
Pam: 'Sir, anything wrong with the document?'
But instead giving an answer ASR turns around. C#5 is surprised by the sudden move of ASR, that she loose the balance and is about to fall back. But immediately ASR catches her and holds her half lying on his left arm. Both looking into each others eyes without any other movement. And suddenly a smile appears on ASR face. Everyone is surprised or in some cases like Sam even shocked to see this.
Arnav: 'You here?', and he helps C#5 to stand properly. After this he turns around with her towards Mr Grantham.
Arnav with some proud in his voice: 'Mr Grantham, you told me, you would like to meet my wife. Well here she is, Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada.'
Except Mr Grantham and Pooja everyone else has his mouth wide open and looking to each other as to asure if they have heard it right.
Mr Grantham: 'Mr Raizada, I always wondered, what would have made you, about whom I never thought he would ever get married, even to take this step in life. And now all my question got cleared at once. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs Raizada.
Mr Grantham smiles: 'Namaste. By the way, this dress is very beautiful. I'm sure Mr Raizada it's from your fashion house.'
Arnav: 'No problem. Here take these documents. I have signed them, please check them and don't hesitate to contact me, if any changes need to be done.'
Mr Grantham: 'I will do. Thanks Mr Raizada. Pam, send the candidates in five minutes into the meeting room.' And together with Pooja he leaves from there.
Arnav: 'Khushi how comes you are here?'
Khushi: 'Well after breakfast I got bored in the hotel room. So I checked on google for the restaurant we are going for lunch today. And I saw, that it is nearer from here than from our hotel. So I decided to spare some time and came here.'
Arnav: 'That was a good and wise decision to come here.'
Khushi: 'Yes indeed I'm glad I came here.', and she moves forward and kisses him on his cheeks, while at the same time her gaze went to the front desk at Sam including the message 'You better watch out'.
Arnav a bit surprised by this action but still with a bright smile on his face: 'Ok, let's go for some sight seeing as we have some time till lunch.'
And both starts walking away from there, when Khushi suddenly stops: 'Just a minute, Arnavji.'
'Just for your information. I'm not Miss India, but I'm the reigning Mrs India and most important I'm the forever lifetime Mrs ASR. So you wannabe Miss 'I'm better than any other woman', listen carefully, what I'm going to say now as I will not repeat it. What ever be your background, in future always treat everyone with respect and don't look with evil eyes at a married man or otherwise my husband will have no other chance than to cancle the deal with Mr Grantham mention your name for the reason. So did you get it?'
Sam just nodding: 'Y-y-yeesss.'
Khushi: 'Fine.' and moves towards her husband. Arnav looking with proud to his wife and thinks, this Sam must have been behaving very bad, otherwise Khushi wouldn't ...
Khushi: 'Let's go.'
Khushi blushed and both came out from the building and stepped into the taxi waiting for them.
Khushi: 'Well as you have promised, we will leave tonight London for Paris and start our tour through Europe.'
Arnav: 'Yes we will do. Did you know Khushi, you can travel from England to France through a tunnel which is under the sea.'
Khushi stunned: 'Really? You are kidding, aren't you?'
Arnav: 'No Khushi. I'm telling the truth. And did you know, that in Paris, there is ...'
And the whole drive Arnav was talking and telling Khushi with excitement about the different places in Europe they were going to visit and whole time Khushi was listening to him with great interest. A scene, which would be a very unusual one for someone, who knew the couple very well.
