With the winds blowing as harshly as the edge of a knife a lonely tear made its way through Zoya's eyes. Salty liquid now drizzled, leaving tear marks on face.
Knock and another knock!
Zoya quickly composed herself, sending a silent prayer not to get caught she advanced towards the door to welcome the sudden guest in her room but to her surprise the door was opened before she could and she crashed into the broad chest, feeling relief after hours of crying. As soon as realization struck her she quickly stood on her legs and raised her face to look at who was standing there, though she already knew the answer to her this question. Lifting her gaze she found Asad Ahmed Khan standing there, so tall
and handsome that he took her breath away. Asad was not the
sort of man she needed to get involved with. But well this was not the time nor the place to think about this. Stepping back and turning away from him, Zoya plainly gazed at the window, her eyes fixed nowhere. "You?" was all she could ask. With her brain not working and heartbeat thudding at the highest possible rate, it was impossible for her speak anything more but this. And with this she swallowed the lump formed in her throat. "Ms. Farooqui, I... I want you to know something" answered uneasily the man who stood near the door. "Yes?" she replied him with a hard knot in her throat.
"Here are your USA tickets, tomorrow's" Asad said with a moist eyes which was hidden well, and then handed the tickets to Zoya.
Already upset Zoya turned around and looked at Asad as if silently asking him why.
"These... these are for you so that you can go back to your family there, and so that you can overcome your sorrows" Asad said gathering all the strength, passing tickets little more forward.
Zoya accepted the tickets "Thank you so much for this Mr. Khan"
As Asad started moving towards the door Zoya stopped him in his way ""Mr. Khan... Why.. I mean is this ticket confirmed?" Zoya asked, herself not knowing what she was doing.
"Ehhh? Yeah I guess, these are confirmed" Said he as a matter of fact.
"Umm.. You want me to go?" she blurted, surprising herself as much as him, now where had this come from? Why had even she asked him? She always wanted to go as soon as she gets clue about her father, but now when she knew he was no more why was she not ready to go? Maybe...maybe somewhere in her heart she still was unsure about her father's death and maybe because she was in love? LOVE? And with Asad? She wasn't the
kind of woman he'd truly be interested in. But then why was she thinking about this? Maybe because it bothered her. It bothered her, that feeling of not
being good enough to be loved. Rationally, she knew she was a good person, a person
worthy of love and tenderness.
Her train of thoughts broke when she sensed Asad moving towards her, and soon she found a hard palm molding around her shoulder. Heat blossomed in her belly, creeping along her skin in a crimson wave leaving behind pinkish ting. Sudden feeling of shyness took over her and she turned, not able to face the warmth of Asad's eyes.
"No" Asad confessed turning Zoya around. Intensely looking in her eyes he continued "I don't want you to go, and never did I wanted, but you being so close to me hurts" New to this side of Asad Zoya was shocked but a felt a unknown pleasure. "Its hurts because you are someone different, a person whom I hate but at the same time a person I cant live without. You are someone I wished I never met, but I wish you can stay for me forever. A person whose cheesy smile and talks get on my nerves sometimes but the tears every time stabs my heart. I wish I never knew you, I wish I..." and before he could complete his sentence Zoya launched herself in his arms, crying and smiling at the same time. "Mr. Khan... I... I love you" said she, tears pricking at the
backs of her eyes as a shiver of premonition skimmed up her spine. She was right, Asad smoothly pushed her away, cupped her face tilting it in a better position and soon his lips met hers. Just as the first kiss of love this was slow, passionate promising to be forever. "I love you too Zoya" mumbled Asad in between the kiss.
