Chapter 11A: Teri Hi Baahon Mein Panahon Mein?
The case was solved and it turned out to be a really shock when the entire thing turned upside down and a new face surfaced up as the real killer…..
They had a long day but all were still in the aftermath of the shocking results and weren't able to call it a day….
Arjun was in his cabin and twirling his pen and was in deep thoughts about the case and also about Riya…..She walked in with the completed case file for his signature….

"Sir, yeh file….."
Riya's feeble voice shook him out of his brief trance…
He took the file from her and looked at her pale face…she looked tired and there were lines of worries too….She looked disturbed and it wasn't tough to guess that she was still caught up in the case!
"Tum bohat tired lag rahi hi……main yeh kaam jaldi katam kar dehtha hoom…just give me a few minutes Riya!"
Riya replied quickly "nahi nahi….aisi koyi baat nahi…..aap aaraam se kijiye Sir…..Shree nikhalne waala hai….he will drop me….."
Arjun wanted her to come with him but he didn't show that...he never wanted to push her anything at all...Instead he just smiled and nodded "teek hai"
Riya didn't walk away as he had expected her to do…she stood there as if waiting for him to say something…..may be she also wanted to wait till he completes his work and then leave with him…..so he casually enquired to make it easier for her….he knew that its very difficult for her to take that first step any day "kuch kehna tha mujhse?"
Riya didn't reply but just kept looking at nowhere in particular as if she was brimming with tears to flow out but she had built a dam which wasn't letting them out…..as if her heart had weighed down with something…..
He couldn't see her like that…….May be she wanted to talk to him and lighten her burden……he could read that from her face…from her eyes!
He spoke up to relax her a bit…."kuch dher yahi beito Riya…..tumse kuch baat karna chahtha hoom……[after a few moments of silence, he adds] Shree ko jaane dho…..I will drop you home!"
She nodded and took the chair opposite to him…..
He focused on completing his work before talking to her…..while she sat there, her eyes on her entwined hands which she had kept on the table and she kept quiet so that he wouldn't get distracted from his work!
In between, she messaged Shree not to wait for her…..Shree already knew that she wouldn't be coming with him….it was easy to guess that Arjun sir would take over that responsibility happily! And Shree was only happy to see some light of hope in his best friend's life! Who else other than her first love could give her back that hope and happiness which she had long lost!
Yes, Shree and Chotu had come to know of her disastrous married life…..they already knew it in bits and pieces about her marriage being on the rocks but today, they had seen the court order summoning her and Suraj for the next hearing…..And the rest, they could guess easily!
Her reactions and outpours during Anitha's murder case investigation made it evident too….and gave them an insight into her past!

Back in the cabin...
Arjun finished checking the file and also completed his pending work…..He closed the file and glanced at her for a few seconds before asking "ghar chalen?"
She shook out of her trance and that question "ghar chalen" showered a unique feeling of companionship on her…a feeling that they were together….that he was with her and she wasn't all alone in this world! It sounded too good coming from him!
He got up from his seat switching off his laptop and his table lamps….But she didn't get up…she just voiced out of the box "yeh rishte bhi kitne ajeeb hote hai na Sir?"
Arjun looked at her while she continued….."itna naazook ke ek halkha sa hawaa ka jhatka aur sab kuch khatam…..baahar se pukka rishta lagtha hai par andhar se utna hi kaccha!"
He could understand that she was talking about Anitha's case and also her life reflected in her talks! He knew she had to pour that out…so he just pulled a chair next to her and waited for her to complete that!
"Ek choti si galat faymi thi…..bas aamne saamne beitke saaf saaf baat karthe toh aaj Anitha sirf inn khaagazon mein nahi reh jaathi……dono apne life mein khush hote….."
Arjun was confused if she was also trying to speak about her life with Suraj……was she indirectly meaning that she didn't give her marriage such a chance?…..but he didn't push her for that reply…he just nodded "haan….baat chupaakar mann mein rakhne se aur bigad jaathi hai…..agar Vivek ne uss letter pe yakeen na karke, Anitha aur apne pyar par vishwas kiya hota toh iss tarah unke pyar aur Anitha ki zindagi adhoori nahi reh jaathi…..ussne khud apne life khoya hai!"
Both looked at each other and their eyes locked for a few silent moments…….
Riya wondered if he was saying about her life also…..but both didn't do the same mistake of not talking it out….they decided to talk it out instead of nurturing a misunderstanding…Both started to talk at the same time...
Riya: kya aap Suraj…..
Arjun: kya tum Suraj….
[Both stopped talking and realized that they were thinking about the same thing…..that realization brought a small smile on their faces]
Riya completed her sentence when he gestured to go on "kya aap ko lagtha hai ke mere aur Suraj ke rishte ko main bachaa sakthi thi…."
Arjun: [thinks for a few seconds and replies] I know Riya, tumne maximum khoshish ki hogi…mujhe patha hai ke tum rishton ke ehmiyat jaanthi ho aur unne bohat maanthi bhi ho…..You would have done all that you could to save it…[his mind pondering over what Suraj had done to her]….ussne khud tumhe khoya hai Riya….He doesn't deserve you!"
Riya smiled faintly trying to take in what Arjun said…….
A few moments of silence…..Arjun gets up and pats on her shoulders consolingly "chalo Riya"

As they drive along, Riya's mind is calm like the deep sea……and Arjun is thinking about talking to her about going to her hometown….It was her sister's engagement and he had promised to himself that he would take her there……but how will he ever manage to convince her to come along….She would never agree…..
He had already booked the tickets and done all other arrangements……He had spoken to Rathod as well…..but Riya's consent was still a hurdle!
He parked the SUV at the beach….thats when she realized that he had changed the route mid way…He looked at her and asked her to get down…..
She didn't protest…may be she wanted that calm cool walk to relax her mind a bit…..He had sensed it and took her there….And he had to talk about the trip as well….
They walk along the sands with the cool sea breeze gently soothing their tired self…
Arjun starts the conversation after a brief silence "Riya…..mujhe tumse kuch kehna tha…I mean poochna tha.."
Riya was puzzled at his hesitation and such a formal start…..She looked sideways at him and sensed that he was having a starting trouble….
She urged him to go on "poochiye na…."
Arjun: kya tum apni sister ke engagement mein jaana nahi chahthi?"
Riya didn't know why he was asking this now…of course she wished to go..afterall it was her only sister's engagement but she couldn't go….She wasn't invited…or she had become so alien to them that they didn't want her there anymore…..
Riya spoke her mind "haan jaana toh chahthi thi par…"
Arjun: bas yahi sunna tha mujhe….ab tum wahaan zaroor jaavogi Riya….
Riya: nahi nahi…yeh aap kya keh rahe ho Sir? Maine pehle hi kaha tha na……maa aur papa nahi chahthe ke main wahaan…..
Arjun snapped her short "tumaari behen ki engagement pe jaane keliye tumhe kisi ke permission ki zaroorat nahi hai Riya……aur waise bhi tumne koyi gunah nahi kiya hai ke tum ab apni mooh chupaakar beitogi…..tum wahaan jaakhar sab ke saath nazaren milovogi….."
Riya: [a part of her agreed to him and another part pulled her down] but sir…..
Arjun: main hoon tumaare saat Riya…tumhe kisi se darrne ki zaroorat nahi…jo bhi hoga saat saat handle karenge…..samjhi tum?
Riya couldn't understand what he meant…was he going to accompany her? She slowly voiced it "matlab aap mere saat….
Arjun nodded, "haan….parso ki dho tickets book kiya hai….."
Riya smiled at his initiative while he added holding his hands out to her "tum mere saat aavogi na?"
Riya slowly placed her hand in his and nodded "haan"
He entwined his fingers into hers and held it firmly as if promising never to leave her alone in this mean world……She glanced at their entwined fingers for a moment without pulling them away!
They walk along in silence with their fingers hugging each other…..His eyes keep darting sidewards to get glimpses of her beautiful form……while her gaze is fixed on the sand below….
The breeze was having its effect on her wavy hair….she had loosened the top knot before leaving ETF due to a slight headache…..and now it just tumbled onto her shoulders…..He didn't miss that beautiful sight…..She now looked close to the Riya he had known years before…..
