As I leave Season 1 behind the image that will be etched in my mind for years to come will be of Ashutosh and Nidhi sitting on the front porch with Nidhi's shy, smiling face on Ashu's shoulder, Ashu is giving a small peck on her head and both of them are content sharing the mutual joy of just being together. 😳 A very happy end indeed. Ashni seemed perfect together, eagerly looking forward to parenthood. Both of them were dressed in white which made them look ethereal and made me wonder if a couple could look so gorgeous in simple white.😃 Ashu's contended smile and Nidhi's radiant glow shone brighter than any jewelry she was wearing. 😉

Looking at the picnic like atmosphere in the front lawns of MN made Nidhi wonder aloud how the world is a 'mela' where relative strangers meet and without realizing form bonds, some of them are broken but some of then go on to become permanent just like Ashni's. Even though the entire family was present and having a blast Ashni seemed lost in their own little world, in their cocoon oblivious to the rest of the surroundings... Nidhi had once told Ashu, "Jab jiska intezar hota hai aur woh nahi aata tab bheed main bhi tanha mehsoos hota hain" but today when they are so much in love it seemed as if together they welcomed being 'bheed mein tanha'. ☺️

And with a dreamy, faraway look on their faces they sat there reminiscing about their journey so far recollecting how they fell in love much to their own surprise, beat all the odds to get married, even cheated death at one point, faced hardships in their first tumultuous year of marriage that included extreme sadness, loneliness, hurt (both physical and psychological), problems created by others, adjustment issues arising due to their differing outlook, and yet through it all they had managed to stay afloat and reach the other shore. One could sense that Ashni had a feeling of gratitude that they were together inspite of all that. 🤗

Now there is an excited anticipation for their future that includes the arrival of their baby. 😎 Nidhi wondered where their life was going to take them. And Ashu responded by saying that next they would reach the milestone of becoming parents and they would rejoice this stage as well by playing with their child, watch him/ her grow up, fall in love, get married and forge new relations. This dialog to me was so powerful that I could actually see Ashni doing all these things in my mind's eye. And Ashu ended it with "Pyaar hi ek aisi cheez hai jo umr ke saath badhta hai. Shareer boodha ho jaata hai par pyaar jawan rehta hai." ❤️

Well said Dr. Ashutosh! Hearing these words took me back 1 1/2 years ago when Ashu did not know what love was having never experienced it in his 42 years.😳 And yet this stranger, this young, flighty girl breezed into his world, turned it upside down and with her selfless love ended up teaching him to love.😛 Her love cured him of his dark corners, set him free from his fort and changed the shy, introvert, strict Dr. Heartstone into the confident, caring, gentle Dr. Hearthrob. Now when Ashu looks at Nidhi there is a special tenderness reserved just for her. As he said he cannot imagine his life without her in it. And the impending fatherhood has given his life that permanence that he had been seeking. Seeing him dance earlier during the Holi festivities it felt as if the kid in him had taken over, was set free.

When he announced to all that Nidhi was going to be the mother of his child, he looked so proud and regal and probably felt 10 feet tall.😉 He could have very well said that Nidhi was pregnant but the way he worded this news gave me goosebumps. The unique manner of saying Nidhi was pregnant with his child shows his immense satisfaction that not only his yearning of being a father was being fulfilled, it was being fulfilled with Nidhi... it had to be Nidhi or no one else! 👍🏼

Its been a pleasure to be part of this Ashni journey, to witness their heart warming love story through all their ups and downs... when I started this journey there were two, there was Ashutosh and then there was Nidhi but today I will leave with the image of one ASHNI, truly they have become one. The ending was perfect. Simple, graceful, elegant, much like the show and the couple themselves. Never before have I seen a show that ended in a more relaxed, laid back manner as this. This is one for the ages... hats of team KTLK! 👏

Brilliantly you laid down your words Aarti! 👏👏👏 Very beautifully articulated the ending of AshNi's love story, though to us, it will always continue in our hearts. 😉👏

Yes, at the start, we witnessed two people who were worlds apart in age & thinking - yet unknowingly their hearts were touched by each others presence & inexplicable love. Then at the end, we witnessed two became one - together, bound by their amazing love for each other. ❤️

Can't imagine any show with this unique powerful love story.

Aarti ' first of all I want to congratulate you for the excellent post. It has been so beautifully written and your love for the show and Ashni is reflected in each sentence..I echo each and every word u have written and Iam not ashamed to say that ur post has made me very emotional and I have tears in my eyes. For me Ashni and their journey is something which I treaure in my heart ' I cant think about it as just a serial and forget about it...

The last scene will always remain in my memory. As you said ' it is amazing how wonderful the couple look in such a simple attire...It is the peace and happiness in their face that has created the magic...The couple who faced tremendous ups and downs in their life together ' both before and after marriage ' now are sitting together ' with Nidhi happily placing her head on Ashu's shoulder..

The basic difference of age and thoughts were always there ' but the other hazards they had faced mainly because of outside factors were something that could break any couple...But only the trust and tremendous love that they both had for each other defeated all odds and now they were embarking on a new life of parenthood...

Ashu has changed completely and Nidhi has been the catalyst for that...Ashu himself has acknowledged that...he has told her that he has realised the importance of a woman i n his life only after she entered she entered his life...and how can we forget his words to her ' that she made him understand that Quila giraane se hi ghar banta hain...So we can understand how sincere Ashu was when he told her that he cannot imagine his life without her...

I can only second your words that the ending has been perfect ' "Simple, graceful, elegant, much like the show and the couple themselves.". Iam happy that I have stood by this wonderful show that has given me immense enjoyment...

And it is a reward to fans like us that they have left us with a hope for Season 2.

Aarti. Beautifully written. 👏👏👏
Your post is as complete as the last episode of Season 1. It was picture-perfect. Nothing overdone or nothing amiss. A sense of serenity and peace exuded from those two, soon to be three and it was complemented by the goofy grins plastered on the rest of the family.
A memorable journey indeed! Waiting for a new beginning😃

Truly well written Arati! The trademark of KTLK has been its subtle and refined storytelling. It's the little nuances in the narration and enactment that has made KTLK stand apart. Ashutosh, with Nidhi in his arms, squeezing his eyes shut, as an acknowledgement of the news he'd been yearning for, was just so much more powerful than mouthing mere words.

KTLK's understated yet high impact depiction of characters and their ensuing relationships, is what has set it apart and I'm so very glad that I've been a part of this journey. Team KTLK deserves to take a bow to a very well deserved standing ovation!
