A special thanks to Sunara, Kina and Nebuna too!
Episode 1
The whole show started off with Dadi! I really liked Dadi alot! The scenes with her made me laugh out loud, be it at the marriage agency or the family members' introduction scene. A person who is traditional by heart and modern by mind.
I simple loved the contrast that she carries within herself. A fear that her granddaughter has not gotten married (an indication of societal values ingrained within her) but still chilled out and has the ability to comprehend that destiny and time has already been planned and will work at its own speed (a willingness to accept the inevitable will always happen).
Which mother in law will teach the daughter in law how to make tea?(hmm except for my granny hehehe my mother had no clue either
and she scolds me hahahaha) A great bonding between mother in law and daughter in law was showcased where its shown respect and relationships start from the heart and not by actions that you are forced to comply to by society.

Acceptance of her grandchildren for the way they are, the cute squabbles she shares with them and her playful banter are a joy to watch! She is someone who values her family's happiness more than anything else in the world.

Chhan Chhan!! Born in a middle-class, well to do family where the bricks in the house are made out of love and the heartbeats are of those residing in it. A dog-lover by passion and profession. She has no idea how to be like a 'typical' girl and this frightens her Dadi even more.

Granny's words that her mother in law must love her like how she does love her daughter in law is going to be struck wide...coz thats not how the story is going to play out when Chhan Chhan finally gets married.

Puchpuch and Chhan Chhan are too adorable! In the scene where she is busy getting Puchpuch dressed for the wedding, it can be clearly seen that she loves her doggies more than herself. She gives more importance to them, rather than to herself.

Another important characteristic that was witnessed amongst Chhan Chhan and her group of friends is that if someone is angry or upset with Chhan Chhan, she has the ability to pacify them and do something / use a tactic to make the other person her friend again. She knows how to win the hearts of people. Example: She used Puchpuch to pacify her friends.

This will definitely be an important characteristic especially when she gets married and will need it to make the members of her husband's family be her friends.

Did anyone notice the two crucial scenes of the show had Chhan Chhan wearing green colour? One was her introduction scene and the other her sari.

Green is the colour of balance and harmony within the heart and the mind; growth, vitality, renewal and rebirth; restores energy; loves and nurtures oneself as well as others unconditionally; loves to contribute to society; optimistic; inspires hope; generous; has a strong sense of right and wrong; makes appropriate decisions with a high moral sense; nature lover + home, family, friends and pets lover; stability; perseveres and is strong to cope with adversity; self-reliant; sympathetic; compassionate; adaptable.

Aren't all these the characteristics of Chhan Chhan?? Let me know what you guys think.

CLASH OF THE TITANS

Umaben – A person who is traditional and idealistic

Chhan Chhan – A person who is idealistic yet is real

Both are strong-headed, independent, believes what they each do is always right, live by a certain ideology and principles.

But while Umaben loves to be superior with a huge ego and be the sole reason for the happenings in her world, Chhan Chhan is willing to adapt to the situation and is forced to ask for forgiveness just because she thought about her friend and her vrat being incomplete.

While Umaben is willing to tread on the crooked path to get her wishes complied with and has the cunningness to justify her ways, Chhan Chhan is outspoken about the injustice that happened in front of her eyes and voices it out.

For someone who is deep-rooted within traditional values and wealth, Umaben believes she can use money as a gift to the priest and get her prayers done. For Chhan Chhan who has been brought up with teachings of love, traditional values, and a sense of right and wrong, t is seen as a crime. The language of money should never be spoken in a place God resides.

This is definitely going to be clash between two different ideals and worlds.

Her words, "God does good for everyone but starts with me" shows that she has been the kingmaker of her world. But I always feel that this dialogue is not complete. My take is that everything starts off with Umaben but will only be finished/completed by Chhan Chhan herself.

It can be seen Chhan Chhan has no problems with someone who is traditional as she is one herself, but she dislikes someone who uses religion and the words from the scriptures to their own wishes and needs. And she has the courage to take a stand against those who misuse it.

Umaben however can be seen that she dislikes modern girls, firstly from the 'top-to-bottom' gaze that she gave Chhan Chhan and secondly, from the words she used like "little girl", "unable to understand the workings of the world", "modern" and "thoughts are also low". Umaben does not like anyone who argues and questions her actions. The fact that Chhan Chhan did these both, had her grow an instant dislike towards Chhan Chhan.

The same goes for Chhan Chhan who wished that no girl should get such a mother in law.

How both Umaben and Chhan Chhan are going to compromise and live under the same roof is going to be interesting to watch.

Scenes that stood out for me

⭐️⭐️Loved how the writer and director highlighted the feelings of a girl who was going to get married in a few hours. Her anxiety and fear of a new life and new family members, whether she looked presentable, her fear whether she can still be herself, meet her friends after marriage was spot on. Purvi's support is always her friends and the fact that any girl who has an arranged marriage has the same inner feelings were brought out onscreen perfectly.

⭐️⭐️As someone who is also part of a girl gang, I loved the friendship scenes. The pictures they were taking, the bonding that they shared, the way they solved each other's problems, everything was very realistic but the scenes were too dragged also. I personally loved the group hug they shared with Purvi in the room.

⭐️⭐️I loved the wedding decorations too, it had an amazing wedding feel to it when the house was shown. Can't wait to see how extravagant the decorations of Chhan Chhan's wedding would be.

⭐️⭐️I loved Sanaya's entry scene, they kept it as real as possible without any dramatic quotient added to it. I loved that look of hers a lot!

⭐️⭐️Puchpuch…there is nothing left to say about him! He is the cutest doggie I have ever seen! Simply adorable!

⭐️⭐️I loved Umaben's background score…somehow I end up laughing like mad hearing it.

Just a question (please feel free to discuss)
Did anyone try to decipher the painting that was done by Karthik Sarabhai? Every painting has a meaning and I am trying to find the meaning of the painting…but am a goner…please let me know if any of you guys did!

Here you go!

Episode 2
The Yin and the Yang

2 opposite individuals, who complement each other, interconnected to create a whole. Manav and Chhan Chhan.

As every great love story starts off with a fight between the protagonists, Manav and Chhan Chhan's first meeting also started off on the wrong foot. An accidental bump, and cupid found the next target for his arrows to strike which will lead for another great love story to commence.

Manav who has an allergy to fur and Chhan Chhan who is a fur-lover'. Looks like this love story would not be a love at first sight one... but needs lots of meetings. However one thing is for sure, neither can forget the other's face. It is already etched in their minds.

I loved their squabble a lot, it made me laugh out loud. It was cute and really funny. A feel good scene. And when Manav asked who is Puchpuch and who is Chhan Chhan, I was like "Oh boy run for your life! Chhan Chhan is going to burn you alive with her killer glare".

And then comes the rescuer of Chhan Chhan, the one and only Puchpuch. He knew Manav was irritating Chhan Chhan, and gave him the perfect revenge by peeing on his shoes. Looks like Puchpuch will never let anyone hurt Chhan Chhan, let even tease her. Like owner, like doggie. Wonder what trouble he is going to give Chhan Chhan's in-laws in future. Ab aayega mazaa!

Another scene was when Chhan Chhan again bumped into Manav. (Looks like all their meetings will involve both of them bumping into each other) The part when Chhan Chhan will threaten to reveal where the smell was coming from was indeed hilarious, and Manav got so tensed. At the end Chhan Chhan being the sweetest person did not pinpoint it to Manav but got her revenge on Manav by comparing the susu to the sherbet. Great job girl! She could chase Manav out of the wedding hall.

Clash of the Titans 2

I liked Chhan Chhan when she tried to wish Umaben 'Namaste'. But it did not come as a shock when Umaben snubbed Chhan Chhan and proceeded further to claim she attended the wedding to find a traditional and quiet girl for her son rather than a modern and loud girl (pinpointing at Chhan Chhan).

One thing to note ' Umaben waits for the right opportunity to strike back at her opponent. When she heard Chhan Chhan's words in the temple that no girl should get a saas like Umaben, instead of arguing with her right at that point, she held the grudge within herself until she got a chance to retaliate later at the wedding hall and said to Chhan Chhan that no one should get a daughter-in-law like her. She is indeed a shrewd woman.

Dahhej

I simply loved the scene between Chhan Chhan and Purvi. The way Chhan Chhan gave moral support to Purvi who was stressed and tensed regarding her in-laws and husband, was fantastic. The way she felt for Purvi and started tearing up hearing her last wish to see her father and setting out to fulfill it.

Chhan Chhan then comes across the truth behind the marriage taking place as she sees Purvi's dad giving 25 lakhs to the groom's family. She feels the need to tell Purvi the truth as Purvi has taken the oath that her parents will not give dahhej to the groom's family during her wedding. The flashback scene that she has of Aarthi's death was heartwrenching, especially hearing her mother say that if she had known Aarthi's in-laws will kill her because of dowry, she would have given up her everything. The scene was really sad.

Scenes that stood out for me

⭐️⭐️Manav and Umaben's bond. Farhan's acting was at its best there for me. His acting was very natural when he acted with Umaben and to see their positive bonding was a welcome change as it was full of energy and jovial; more towards how a mother and son bond in real life rather than the usual mother-son bonding that is shown in dramas.

⭐️⭐️Usually in any dramas, when the protagonist knows of a truth, they immediately show the actress taking up the decision and to stop the wedding. But I loved how here instead of Chhan Chhan taking it upon her shoulders to stop the wedding, she informed her friends and all of them came to a consensus decision to inform Purvi about it as she is the one who ultimately makes the decision as it concerns her life. Totally loved this realistic aspect that was shown.

Points to ponder

Will Manav and Chhan Chhan's love story be an easy one? I do not feel so and I have explained my reasons below. Feel free to share your views.

This is entirely my view.

I have learnt 2 things by seeing Manav, apart from the fact that he is a jovial and fun guy to be with. They are
1)Manav is a modern-thinker (for a wedding instead of being traditionally dressed, he is dressed in a shirt and vest)
2)Manav believes in power...dressing gives power and individuality and highlights your personality...he strives to being proper.
This is is direct contrast to Chhan Chhan as if we look at Chhan Chhan, she may be a modern girl but she found the easy way out to solve her problem...(she never thought what if suddenly the string of her lehenga gets untied, what will happen then?)
Two different people with two different approaches to life. The yin and the yang combo.

I feel the ego clashes are going to be very evident here...two strong-headed, stubborn individuals will never accept defeat very soon. And especially if their egos are hurt...him laughing at Chhan Chhan and Puchpuch's name and Chhan Chhan getting angry with him I feel is the stage set for the onstart of the clashes to happen. How they get back at each other will be fun to see.

My only qualm while watching the episode was Farhan's sneezing, it looked too fake and if Farhan starts to share that same relationship quotient and comfort zone with Sanaya that he shares with Supriya-ji, this jodi i feel is going to rock.

Episode 3

Continuation of Dahhej

During the confrontation between Purvi and her dad, I really felt bad for the father and heartbroken for Purvi. A father who pampered his daughter and gave her everything since young and now wants to marry her off to a good family and he thought by giving the groom's family 25lakhs, they will keep his daughter happy. He did it for the well being of his daughter and for the marriage to take place well but what he forgot that was highlighted was that once the groom's family know that they can bend you to their will, they will continue to do so in future too.

From what I have been reading in the forums regarding giving dowry and taking it, I have realised, it's a situation that's lived and experienced by many people. It has become deep-rooted in the Indian customs I feel and sadly a curse too. The only way this situation can be changed is by taking a stand against it and having an open and progressive mindset.

This was highlighted when the father realised the extremity that his action can cause to his daughter's future life. He saw the connection between taking dowry, asking for more dowries in future and Arti's death. A father who could give everything for his daughter can never see her being unhappy, tortured and at the end dead. He took a stand for his daughter and cancelled the marriage...a huge message that sent out my daughter is more important than society.

I liked the scene more coz instead of the bride's family pleading to the groom's family that their family honour, daughter's life is at stake...it was the groom's family that was saying all that. I jumped up and started clapping coz this was the first time I have ever heard it! (It has always been my son can find million girls but your daughter can never get married again...and they will start to mock the bride's family argh!!)

I just love this part! And the producers sent out the right message to the audiences. Changes in society can only take place when we change ourselves first...and the father's stand to call off marriage is the first I hope to many more to come. Love will always preside society!

My heart broke for Purvi though when she was speaking to her dad...she is so innocent! Her only wish was to find someone who values her for who she is and she was happy and contented that her prayers were answered. But she got such a rude shock to realise that the groom and his family valued the money that her father will give rather than value her, who will enter their family as a new member.
Her words that her trust was broken shows how much the action of giving dahhej can impact the strength and courage of a girl negatively and make her look weak in the eyes of the society. Chhan Chhan speaking about Purvi having a Masters in Computer Graphics, cooks well and able to handle the household by herself shows how much money mattered to the groom's family over Purvi herself as they had no clue that she had such qualities in her.
Neither is the family nor the groom worthy of Purvi. Hopefully she finds someone who is worthy of her! She does not deserve this family at all!

The Scorned Billi

There is a saying where they say fear the wrath of a scorned woman. That's exactly what is happening here.

The wedding was arranged by Umaben and she is right in her own ways that if it is stopped her honour and dignity is also at stake. So she uses all the 'nice' words in her dictionary, emotional blackmail and most importantly her manipulative tactics for the wedding to take place by hook or by crook. She is one woman who sets out to accomplish the task that she wants to get done.

I am just wondering if, according to Umaben's words, the 25lakhs is not dahhej but 'gifts' gave by Purvi's dad for the happiness of his daughter, why didn't Umaben take back the 25lakhs and give it back to Purvi or her dad? If I remember clearly she was the one who said to Purvi's dad to take back the 25lakhs while giving it to the groom's family if he thought he was giving the money as dahhej instead of gifts.

If she really cared for her honour to be untarnished and for that the wedding should take place, shouldn't she have asked the groom's family to return back the money instead of emotionally blackmailing Purvi's dad about him working for her for 35 years, speaking about how the society will react to a broken marriage and so he should get the pheres completed.

The generation gap that exists between Umaben and Chhan Chhan was clearly estabished in this scene. What is right for one is wrong for the other. And their continuous disagreement to the other's reasoning only increases their hatred for one another.

Even though in this case Chhan Chhan was right, Umaben's ego, her rigid principles and her hatred for Chhan Chhan does not allow her to see Purvi's stand and understand her feelings, even though she claims to be her mother. For her the wedding should take place so she can score a win over Chhan Chhan and establish herself as the superior one once again. She just cannot accept defeat in front of a young girl.

When it comes to Manav and Chhan Chhan's love, will Umaben let go of her ego, rigid principles and hatred for Chhan Chhan and fulfill her son's wishes? Or will she break her son's heart?

Scenes that stood out for me

⭐️⭐️The silent support that Purvi's friends gave her at the Mandap and at the confrontation scene for their friend's predicament.

⭐️⭐️Purvi standing up for her rights; the father and daughter's scenes.

⭐️⭐️The groom's family begging the bride's family to consent for the wedding to continue to take place.

⭐️⭐️The arm-hold shared by Purvi and Chhan Chhan where both understand each other's needs and that thoughts without saying anything.

Attention to details
I hope the director pays attention to missing details in the coming episodes and clears them up. For example, suddenly the 5th friend is missing from the whole episode and it was her best friend's wedding and she is not there. They should have given an explanation for it. This is an important detail as for the first 2 episodes there was a heavy emphasis on their friendship and the girl gang.

Episode 4

Lies, lies and more lies!

It's human nature to lie to save one's image, honour and dignity in front of another individual and we see that happening here not once, not twice but thrice.

Umaben lied to the guests gathered at the wedding that the groom's father broke the wedding. What a lie! Now the whole society is going to pinpoint at Purvi as to why her wedding was stopped at the 3rd phere. It would have been excellent if Purvi's other 2 friends had disagreed to Umaben's statement.

Umaben lied to her own son and to her 3 daughter-in-laws that she herself stopped the wedding from taking place as the groom's family loved the gifts and money more rather than the girl who was going to enter their house. She claimed they were 'small-minded' people. What an irony when she was the one supporting the groom's family the whole while!

Family-bonding time

When someone has undergone adversity, it's important for their closed ones to restore their confidence and show them their support and most importantly to make them smile. The Sarabhai family takes it upon themselves to support Tusshar Uncle and Purvi during this testing time.

Chocolates and ice-cream are the best stress-busters in modern times, and instead of crying and cribbing over spilt milk, they are helping Purvi and Tusshar uncle to see the silver lining for brighter days that are to come. Purvi's rajkumar who is yet to arrive and her dhoom dhaam shaadi! (That girl totally deserves it!)

The 3 Musketeers and Gadhbad

Komathi Bhabi – The paranoid and matured daughter-in-law

Sanjana Bhabi – The nave, mischief-maker

Ranjana Bhabi – The stylist and someone who understands her MIL very well

Gadhbad (Umaben) – The strict disciplinarian of the house, who reprimands her family members when they commit mistakes that harm her reputation as well as shower them gifts when their actions make her happy, proud and live with honour in the society.

Susuwala Terawala VS Best Daughter-In-Law in the World

Umaben wants Manav to marry the girl she will choose who will be the best in the world. Her set of criteria includes susheel, sanskaar ladki, who will listen to every word that she says. Her main criteria is that the girl should not be like Chhan Chhan even 1 per cent.

Chhan Chhan wants a guy who loves doggies, a guy chosen by Puchpuch.

However, Manav is allergic to fur and runs at the mention of the word 'marriage' by his mother. Moreover, he is also afraid of a big doggie.

I am wondering what a triangle this story is shaping up into! Haye Bhagwan!

Tears

No matter how we smile and show everyone that we are not at all troubled by what happened in the day, the night always brings back the bad memories and with it the tears. It was no different here that even though Purvi acted courageous and was smiling away with Chhan Chhan and everyone, in the night she cried due to her predicament and the fear of what will happen next must have frightened her even more. A natural feeling.

Things to ponder
When Umaben silently spoke to the groom's parents, did she mention about the 25 lakhs that Tusshar uncle gave them as dahhej?

Manav helped out Himanshu in his own way when Umaben chided him and she did not say a word to Manav regarding his actions. In future after Chhan Chhan's marriage, will Manav help her out of difficulties in his own ways?

Manav loved the fact that the marriage broke at the 3rd phere and compared it to a filmy scene. Looks like someone who loves dramatic happenings and loves to be a spectator of such scenes. What will he do when it happens at his own wedding?

Scenes that stood out for me

⭐️⭐️Manav and Umaben's scene where he says it's his pleasure to get slapped by his mother. Really nice to see such a bonding!

⭐️⭐️The scenes between both Manav and Himanshu are also very funny to watch.

⭐️⭐️The himmatwala scene between Tusshar uncle, Purvi and Chhan Chhan.

⭐️⭐️The bedroom scene between Simple, Purvi and Chhan Chhan.

⭐️⭐️Simple praising Chhan Chhan's mother's cooking! Totally reminded me of me and my best friend's mummy! Boy she is the best cook ever!

I am on 1st page
and 3rd 😳
jaya is it really u 😲
I am in shock😳
last time also I told that u are a writer material 😉
loved ur analysis 😃
agree with all the points and specially the one where umaben taunts cc that she doesn't like a bahu like cc after she commented on ub at the mandir
she is kind of a person who never forgets and forgives( my POV )😕
so instead of scolding her she kind of disapproved her as an ideal DIL
and good point about the color 👏
I didn't realize until you pointed out 😊
and about the painting thing it's very high for my level 😆
so didn' t understand what it wants to convey 😕
you are right that once farhan will get his space and time they will make a mindblowing jodi😳
and about cc telling her friends and them telling purvi is a realistic approach indeed 👍🏼
puchpuch is gonna give tough time to manav after cc and he is married ⭐️
imagine cc insisting he will sleep on the bed with them and will take bath before manav and manav getting late for work and cc is busy getting him ready and manav is non existent for her and him getting jealous of a doggie 🤣
dadi is also very understanding and their family is very supportive and lovely 😛
wonderful post 😃
ok this is too much for me 😆

Congrats on your first CC post!!!
Wow what a detailed and insightful post...Ive just read through the first episode and don't think you've missed anything at all and agree with 99% of what you've said.
For me one of the main highlights was CC's reaction to UB at the temple, she got mad and showed it by turning away and had to be convinced by her friend to enter the temple. To me that was such a real reaction and I hope this is how CC will be and that she too will make mistakes and not be the 'perfect bahu' modern or otherwise.
1% disagree on the following point: Puch puch is the cutest dog ever...sorry, can't agree I'm biased...I'll give him second cutest😃
Will return after reading the rest.
