Episode 231 Discussion: 28th March 2013

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is

It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter. People just need to fall in a habit.
We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.
Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more, it is desired you take your conversation with your buddies to alternate venues like chat clubs, pm mode etc.
Quoting Policy: It is desired that people refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. They can pick out the parts that they like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. It is often seen that we have to scroll through the pages when all they have done is quoting and more quoting with one line response to the actual post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, it is preferred that people do not quote longer posts and just extract the portions of the post that they like to respond to and if they still find it relevant to their thought process then get the entire quoted text.

Episode 231 Discussion - EOD summary

"You are not Aryan's mother" Says Who? Says Padmini to Madhu.

Events of the Episode

Sultan, Madhu, Kaaka and Aryan escape the goons. Madhu hides them in Roma's Apt (to be revealed in the middle of the episode). Madhu reaches home and effectively silences Trishna and her mom by cutting them off when they ask of her where she went. She mentions she is hungry. Padmini feeds her. When Trishna and Padmini attempt to make a conversation of where she went, about Sultan and where is Aryan, Madhu keeps avoiding their questions and gets up from the table. Trishna wants to go to Roma's Apt to practice her script. Madhu pleads her not to go. Later into night Madhu takes food and milk downstairs to offer to Sultan. Trishna follows her and is aghast to see Sultan there. Madhu requests Trishna to avoid telling their mother. As Trishna agrees, Padmini walks in. Understands what's going on. She is upset and goes to their Apt in anger. When Trishna and Madhu walk in, Padmini chides Madhu into repeatedly breaking her trust and acting crazy in emotion. She tells Madhu that she is not Aryan's mother to be so overly concerned about the kid. She also Madhu she cannot start helping people at random and if she knows anything else about Sultan, other than the fact he is father of Aryan and if she has forgotten that Sultan is a gangster. Sultan who has followed them intervenes and his side of story where new information is that Sultan does not have a surname, doesn't know his father, whose mother died when he was 8 and that his wife does nkt live with him anymore. That he came from Dubai to settle some old scores. That he shall leave from Chawl at the first opportunity and that he is indebted to her daughter Madhu for saving his life.

Episode Reviews.

Episode was interesting with much needed sanity lecture to Madhu. Padmini gives that to Madhu. Its a small respite for viewers.

18th - RK insults Madhubala in front of everyone as Sultan broke the windshield of his car and left a note for him. Madhubala goes to meet Sultan and tells him about her condition. She tells Sultan not to commit these kinds of things in future. (3.6)

19th -RK calls Madhubala under the influence of alcohol and asks her for the phone number of her lover. Madhubala disconnects the call. Meanwhile, Sultan comes at Madhubala's house and apologizes to her regarding his action of breaking RK's windshield (3.5):

20th - After learning the fact that the person he saved is none other than RK himself, Sultan takes out his gun to kill him, but somehow manages to stop himself. He drops RK at his house where Radha and Bittoo are waiting for him (3.4)

21st- RK switches off all the lights in the studio leaving just one spot light switched on. He questions Madhubala what is the name of the guy in her life. Madhubala, in reply, tells him that the guy he meets is Sultan and she doesn't have any relation with him. (3.3)

22nd - Sultan goes to stop some of his men from smuggling drugs, but his men conspire against him and try to kill him. Sultan, somehow, manages to put the drugs on fire and escape from there. Meanwhile, Sultan's servant drops Aryan at Madhubala's place and tells Madhubala that he is going in search of Sultan. (3.2)

23rd (saturday): 2.6

*TRP dropped everyday.. it started in a goodnote and it keep decreasing everyday like some people lost their interest everyday and stopped watching... it was a gradual fall*

And...my rough (data driven) forecast for TRPs this week is the 2.9 - 3.2 range. Which would be pretty sad for the channel/PH, if it actually came true...
Talking about this track, I can see why the PH introduced a new main character - doesn't make sense for a Mon-Sat show to run only based on two leads (burnout, burnout!!) Also, people have referenced IPKKND - and how it closed down because the male lead quit the show. I guess the MB folks don't want to be in the same position at some point, and are hence developing another lead, perhaps along the lines of an ensemble cast.
But what perplexes me about this strategy is how they have executed it. I would imagine that in a best case scenario, they would want to bring in new viewers, but also keep the core/base. But here, they seem to be antagonizing/turning off the base while bringing in some new viewers. Antagonizing the core base makes sense, if they think that the new viewer base that they swap in will be bigger than the old ones they swap out. Problem is, TRPs seem to indicate that there's not enough new takers for the new track to make up for the viewers who are put off, and are switching channels or shutting off their TV.
So, I guess the bottom line of my ramble is - this track needs to start making some sense sometime fairly soon'..

RK is still thinking about Sultan and Madhu, I see.. Brilliant. He hasn't improved.. But still just 2 days since he went overseas.

And the questioning begins! Finally. Why did it end so fast. And why was Padmini feeding Madhu. 😕 Questioning should've restarted when Madhu was done eating. Her behaviour does not go unnoticed by Padmini atleast. And I can't believe Trishna, have they all lost their minds? 😡

Padmini does not mince words to describe her fury. 👏👏 Wow! My favorite scene of the day. ⭐️ Simply brilliant. Every dialogue, every word uttered was perfect. And as for Sultan, his sob story made Padmini relent and made Madhu think she is doing the right thing .. Madhu just doesn't seem to listen. She still thinks she is right. But her expression when Padmini tells her she is not Aryan's mother, that he is with his father.. What is she thinking? Don't tell me she actually started to think of Aryan as her son? 😲🤢 Can anyone explain, please? Why do I get the feeling that the gangster-wala promise which Sultan made will come back to bite him? I hope it does, and somewhere painful at that.

On one side is the Right Kameena, RK with his Kameena-wala promises and on the other side is the Don, Sultan with his gangster-wala promises..

More of a rant than a review but I couldn't help it.. The dam holding my irritation just collapsed today..

anyone like the cat and mouse game b/w those idiot goons and hauslon se veer Sultan bhai and co.? 🥱 c'mon he had his gun for protection, he is Bhai ! hauslon se veer ka achar daalna tha? 🤢 yest. there was some speculation about Madhu ki khoon bhari maang but lagta tha maang us bechare ganje gunde ki bhar jaayegi 😕❓ but thankfully, it didn't happen ! TG it was over in 5 mins otherwise i wud have fallen asleep 🥱

today's epi. was much better than the last 3-4 episodes...

again, what was the point of bringing in RK ?? 😭 body doubles and superimposed images 🤢 lagta hai the CV's r having a tough time with these stars .

Madhu returning to the chawl ..Trishna makes an appearance again..she blatantly lies to her mother and Trishna 🤢 but thankfully her lie is caught in time..what made her think that she can hide the truth from Padmini for these many days , specially when Sultan and Co. were right there in Roma's flat??

⭐️ Padmini the star mom 🤗 uff i loved her today...RK se bhi zyada 😆 all her dialogues were fab..a few of them were lifted from our ED thread kya? nahi nahi..i trust RS Sir, but yes, that's good news for us, we are on the right track in analyzing these characters 😎

goes without saying, Padmini was abs right in her concern..can't Sultan take care of Aryan? Madhu is NOT his mother , why so much concern for him ?? and she's dealing with a gangster ! now that Padmini used the word, is there any doubt that he is something else ?? i loved her toofan wala dialogue..pehle shaitan RK and ab Madhu khud Sultan ko leke aa gayi 👏🤣 n is saying ke sab kuch theek hai ya ho jayega in a short while !

Sultan's senti story was again 🥱 but Madhu was impressed right?? nevertheless, the scene was good...Avinesh again acted well in his character 👏 it was a refreshing change to NOT see Madhu's bulging eyes today such a relief !! Sultan constant talk about karz makes me how will he payback the karz? by paying 40 lakhs to RK? 🤔 Madhu didn't accept money from Dipali but she will accept it from Sultan bec. Aryan is innocent? 😕 coz that's the only one reason she has to cover up her association with Sultan...😆

precap again had that poster !! uff ! why do i read so much into Madhu going down those stairs and coming up 😕 aarrgggh ! is RK back tomorrow? bec. Madhu was back to the set?

I loved Paddy today. She voiced viewers today. Madhu just doesn't put herself in trouble but people around her as well. Paddy should have slapped Madhu again. But alas!

Bhai's sob story narration was very poor. It looked like as if he's a taperecorder and going on and on in single pitch.
Anyway it is confirmed that he's a gangster only.

They should stop those fake RK scenes from abroad🤣🤣🤣

And why was Hum hai deewaane being played when Paddy was BBBing Madhu? I was ROFL🤣🤣.

Felt like watching the episode after what seemed an etenity..

It has just been a couple of days since I did not watch it...

The first few scenes with the goons was just pure filmy and illogical..

I will let it be...😒

RK tries to make a call, is frustrated that the call does not go through..

Remembers sultan & Madhu again..

So looks like he has not calmed down yet...😔

Madhu comes back home and still is very evasive with her mom and

Trishna.. I think both of them pick on her evasiveness..

Madhu goes to roma's room to give food to sultan and co..

Trishna follows and faces the gun wielding sultan..

Madhu explains it away.. liked how Trishna said that you can

emotionally blackmail me.. but what if mom finds out..

But don't like the fact that she is trying to help madhu cover it up from

padmini.

Thankfully we don't have to endure it much longer.

Padmini walks in on all of them...shocked to see sultan & co.

The scene where padmini blasts on madhu and trishna was the

scene stealer for me...

It is high time Madhu faces the music...

I loved everything that Padmini said.. 👏

Sultan coming in and revealing his past... boy ...he did that at

jet speed.. does not give long, lengthy dialogues...😆

Whether sense prevails on Madhu or not is yet to be seen😕

But looks like sultan & co will be allowed to stay in the chawl for

a couple more days...😔

I am sure it is going to backfire on Madhu & her family BIG TIME...

Precap : Is RK coming back tomorrow??? Hoping to see some

revival...😊
