Awesome topic !
The show actually reflects the mindset of many homes in India even now. The Patriarchal society the dominance of men their attitude makes the women feel inferior and scared to achieve what they want to. Women hving to constantly looking for approval of the men in the house.Nupur is an educated girl but she is refrained from spending time with friends or persue a career because of Balraj and their family tradition. She had to keep it a secret to avoid the backlash of Balraj ! Nupur, Nandini, Shyama, Beeji all of them spend their days finding little joys in little moments. Chatting, cooking or joking around ! Meera stepping in with jeans, boots and her liberal ways makes her an exciting topic of discussion for them inside house ! Her stories of camping and trekking excited them because some where they too also wish to have an identity of their own outside the confines of home.
This is so true...it reinforces the fact that women are often looked down upon in society, and the strength if nandini and meera as strong women when fighting against balraj will make them equivalent to men...and going back to the title...I remembering yesterday's episode nandini said 'mien bhi kuch hoon..un ki patni' it shows how undervalued she feels herself to be...comparing herself to a thing... I felt so sorry for her...nandini's scenes are so emotional, She'll be a wreck when she finds out about annirudh's deception..
Nice post... actually I'm liking this show for the same reason... it's showing the real situation of women in our society... their desires & the treatment they get from their male counterparts.
