He was trying to buy medicine for Sahiba and some people thought he was crazy so they took him to the asylum and gave him electro shock therapy. Don't know about the Chetan part though.

He went to buy medicine during rioting and was picked up as he resembled an escaped patient and the so called doctors wouldn't believe him when he told them that he wasn't that person. His violent nature probably didn't help his case either. :)
