SOTY gang still attached at the hip: Sidharth
Manish Malhotra's show at the recent Fashion Week had Esha Gupta and Jacqueline Fernandez walking the ramp, but the actor who the audience cheered the loudest for was Delhi boy SidharthMalhotra.
When we caught up with him after the show, for which his family had also come, he told us, "Manish knows men's fashion best, he knows that men don't need to shout it out loud or make it bling to look fashionable. He was also the stylist for my first film and now I did my first show as an actor for him, so that makes it special. We also have the Malhotra connect, even though people still think we're related. I wish we were. We do have the Punjabi connect and all Punjabis bond on some level."
He added that this time, walking the ramp was a lot more fun because it's not his job anymore. "I was on the ramp after three or four years. You are always nervous when you walk, but this time it was more fun. It's not my profession anymore, so that was liberating, and it takes off the pressure." We asked him what is more difficult of the two, and he said, "Acting is much more difficult, even though it's tough to compare the two because they are two different worlds. Modeling is one medium, which is how you look. You're not using your voice, expression, you're not dancing."
We asked him how life has been after his much-hyped debut in Student Of The Year. "I don't think it's sunk in yet. It's only been six months and a lot has changed. There are more expectations now. If people praise you then you want to keep them happy, if they criticize you, you want to change that. Now I am doing my second film, so you feel now you have to take decisions and that's when the pressure comes in. They ask me now, 'yeh OK hai na?' And I am like, nobody's asked me this before, yeh mujh se pooch rahe hain? But we have to take the onus now. That's a new thing. When we were launched, it was all instructions. Karan Johar is a legend so you don't need to ask him any questions. This is different because I am working with a new director, Vinil Mathew, for Hasi Toh Phasi," he said.
But the SOTY gang is still in touch? He said, "Oh yes. We're still attached at the hip, probably in the next six months we will go our separate ways, but we will never lose touch. Your first film's cast is always special."

Choreographer-turned-director Remo D'Souza, close on the heels of his 3D dance film, has been signed on by Karan Johar to direct an action-adventure flick. A source from the production team reveals that this high-voltage action thriller will star Siddharth Malhotra and will be on the lines of the hit Hollywood franchisee The Fast and The Furious. The film revolves around illegal street racing and heists. Says a source, "Remo, Karan and his team are constantly meeting and working on the script. It's too early to reveal anything, but all we can say is that the action will revolve around cars." Shooting will begin soon after Sid wraps up KJo's other romcom Hasee Toh Phasee with Parineeti Chopra. Remo's film will be Sid's third outing with his Student of The Year producer. Remo shares, "The film will go on the floors by year-end."
