My first theatre visit-Akashdeep

The first movie I watched in the theatre, was Jai Santoshi Maa. My parents took me to Basant Talkies at Chembur, when I was about nine years old. We had to stand in a long winding queue just to get three tickets.

Once we got in, the experience turned out to be more like watching a live play, rather than a film. The audience was enthralled, and clapped each time a miracle was performed, or a villain was killed on screen.

And since it was my first time in a cinema hall, the film, the audience involvement and the big screen made it a larger-than-life experience.
