Sultan OS - His Angel
The night was dark. Sultan lied on the seashore, his chest bleeding from the bullet. His body felt weak from the loss of blood and his breathing got difficult each passing breath. Yet, he was fighting to live; fighting with death. He had only one reason to live. It was his son, Aryan. He knew the little boy must be worried by now. He never failed to get home this late. Even so, he would have called Aryan and instructed him to have his dinner and go to bed.
His little boy. How would he survive without him? This was why he needed Aryan to be strong. At some point in life, he would have to leave this world and he wanted Aryan to fight for life and be strong. He didn't want to leave his son to be vulnerable and alone.
Then he saw her... her beautiful face he never forgot. It has been ages since he last saw her. There was no change in her though. Her porcelain skin was radiating in the moonlight and her long chestnut hair hung low down her back. Her beautiful face- his breath hitched in his throat and his already wounded heart throbbed in pain. Her beautiful eyes were scanning him with concern. She kneeled down beside him and one of her soft hands cupped his face. His eyes closed immediately.
"Sultan." She whispered.
'That voice. Her beautiful silver voice.' He thought the pain in his chest increasing. 'How much he missed her.'
He opened his eyes, his grey ones meeting her ebony ones. He wanted to speak, but his breathing was getting lighter and difficult.
"Jaan-" He managed to whisper. "You- are-here."
"Shhh." She placed a finger on his lips. "Don't speak!" She whispered. Her soft fingers gently brushed through his hair. His breathing was getting shallow and long.
"I want you to fight Sultan." She said gently. "Remember your promise for me?"
He got an abrupt flashback of those happy days. His beautiful wife and her laugh like bells. She made his life complete. She was the only person who was able to melt down his steel demeanour and only for her he showed his gentle side. He remembered how happy both of them were when they learnt she was carrying his child. She had tears of happiness glistening her eyes. That day itself she made him promise that he would look after their baby no matter what comes their way. He remembered the first time they held their little son together. Aryan was the best gift anyone had ever given him and he still remembered the beautiful smile that graced his wife's face, looking into his eyes. Their happiness didn't last long, as one day she disappeared and never came back. Everyone thought that she was dead, but he didn't believe so as they did not find any evidence as such. He didn't cry. Sultan never shed tears. That was not him. However, he couldn't deny that each night his heart cried out for her, missing her presence, her love. Even if she was not alive, he believed she would be looking down at him being his guardian angel.
"Sultan." She spoke gently rubbing below his chest. "Breath. Fight for it." She encouraged him.
"I-love-you." He managed to whisper.
"I love you too. I always did, I always will." A tender smile graced her beautiful serene face.
"Why- did you leave?" His eyes searched hers.
"I never left you. I'm always there with you. Right here..." She touched his heart lightly. "...beating within you." She placed a soft kiss on his forehead and then another tender kiss on his lips.
"My beautiful angel." He whispered. "I miss you."
His eyes glistened, his unshed tears fighting to fall. His breathing was becoming regular.
"Whenever you miss me, listen to your heart. You'll know I'm always there with you." She smiled, that lovely smile.
He closed his eyes, his heart at peace and the pain in his wounded chest still intact, but much better. He felt strong. He was fighting. He was fighting for her and for their son.
He opened his eyes to find her gone. Then he listened to his heartbeat and smiled.

I hope you guys liked it. This is the first ever OS I have written. By the way, if anyone was confused it was how Sultan was hallucinating his missing wife. He loves her deeply, so that's why she was considered his heartbeat. â€ïž In other words what I meant was she still lives in his heart. Other thing is she's only missing. He doesn't know for sure whether she's actually dead.(I hope she's not đ)
