Smriti discharged from hospital

Tulsi, aka Smriti Iraani, has been missing from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi thanks to a bout of dengue. She was admitted to Lilavati Hospital last week, and was reported to be in the ICU. However, Smriti was discharged a few days back and is on her way to recovery.

Says a source close to her, "It'll take some time before she is finally declared fit. Apart from weakness, she also has to recover from the dose of antibiotics given to her. Since the illness was detected at an early stage, there were no complications."

Bed-ridden
The source adds that her family was very worried about her health when she was admitted to the hospital. "Smriti was in a terrible state when she was diagnosed with dengue. It did take time for her condition to stabilise."
Smriti has returned home now and has already started working from her bed. "I'm a complete workaholic. I know I should rest, but I have been holding creative meetings for my production at home. People tell me its difficult to keep me away from work."

The actress gives her husband Zubin full credit for supporting her. "If it had not been for him, I would have been finished. He stood by me like a rock. My husband and family are the only reason I am recovering. The doctors at Lilavati were great and made sure that I was given the right treatment."

Not many are aware that her condition worsened as she was also diagonised with typhoid. "I got a combination of dengue and typhoid. That is definitely not a good thing."

Back on my feet
When asked if she would resume work soon, Smriti says, "Hopefully, by Thursday the intra-venous drip will be removed. I am itching to get back on my feet and resume work. I also want to thank my fans for their blessings and love. It's a combination of everyone's love that has helped me survive."
