j - "Final general sugery exam"

v - "So you decided for sure then?"

j - "Yeah I mean I had to"

v - "Had to? What do you mean?"

j - "Uhm I think"

v - "What?"

j - "Nothing"

v - "Jeevs tell me?"

j - "I think I maybe"

v - "Maybe what?"

v - "Jeevika spill it already"

j - "Its nothing" she said looking out her window

Viren stopped the car as they reached the plaza.

v - "Now tell me whats wrong will you? Did something happen at the hospital?"

j - "My feet are swollen and my back has been hurting way more than usual recently"

v - "What do you mean? I mean isn't that because of stress?"

j - "That's what I thought. But it could be something else"

v - "You mean"

j - "I don't know"

v - "Why haven't you taken a test then?

j - "I was scared" she said tearing up

Viren placed his hand behind her head

v - "Why are you scared Jeevs. Don't worry. We'll do it first thing we get home okay?"

Jeevika nodded yes as she wiped her tears away.

The three of them got out of the car and started walking inside. Viren held Jeevika's hand tightly as they followed Zaaine around. He knew this store way to well. Target was his favorite because he could get all his toys, books, backpacks, everything here. It was like a treat for him and his parents brought him here. Within no time he had found his backpack of his liking. He then roamed around finding and looking at other things from toys to puzzles. He couldn't decide what he wanted.

z - "Daa me don't know what to get"

v - "How about that book? Then next time you can get a puzzle"

z - "But me like puzzle also"

v - "Well you have to choose one"

z - "no daa me want both"

v - "Fine then you can't get the backpack"

z - NOOO. okay me choose puzzle"

v - "Okay let's go pay for it then"

They walked to the cashier and Viren payed for the stuff. They got back into the car to go home. Jeevika was a little panicked, more than usual.

z - "daa cookie please"

v - "Zaaine I told you before bed okay"

z - "Okay daa"

v - "Are you hungry? Let's pick up something to eat"

j - "No, I'm not in the mood to"

v - "Because you're scared"

j - "I don't know"

v - "I think you're just getting overly worried. And even if it is, then what's the big deal?"

j - "It just never goes according to our plan Viren. We're never prepared. Or at least I'm not and thats why I can't give my best at it"

v - "Who said that?"

Jeevika was just quiet. Viren drove home as quickly as he could. Zaaine went upstairs to his room taking his new stuff. Atleast he was occupied now for sometime giving Viren and Jeevika sometime for themselves. They both walked upstairs hand in hand and went straight into their room, closing the door half-way. Jeevika sat on the bed and Viren sat right behind her and hugging her. He placed his arms over her chest bringing her closer to him so she was on his chest.

v - "You know you get stressed out too easily"

j - "I'm just nervous. I don't think I have it in me to do it right now"

v - "Come on, you not taking the test will just make you more nervous. And you don't think I'm nervous?"

j - "No, because you're much stronger than me"

v - "I like to show you that I am" he said smiling and kissing her cheek.

j - "Well you're pretty good at showing off"

v - "Now go take the test please"

j - "okay fine" she said getting up from the bed.

They both walked inside the bathroom and Jeevika got two tests out from below the counter sink. She went inside while Viren went back outside to their bedroom waiting for her. All those flashbacks started coming. From them going to San Francisco to Jeevika being admitted in the hospital. He started remembering the day Zaaine was born and how beautiful their life had become even though it was tough. Jeevika came back to the room and sat on Viren's lap.

j - "Are you happy nervous or scared nervous"

v - "Obviously happy nervous dumbo"

Jeevika smiled. Just then Zaaine peeped in from the half-open door and saw his parents. He went inside and climbed on top sitting on top of Jeevika.

v - "Gosh the two of you are so heavy. I'm dying over here"

Zaaine and Jeevika started laughing and gave each other a high-five.

z -"Daa cookie now please?"

v - "Okay, go get your night suit out, I'm coming"

z - "Daa me take it out already"

v - "Wow Zaaine is so responsible. Zaaine you need to go to sleep on time today because tomorrow is your first day of school"

z - "Okay da, me sleep on time" he said climbing down from Jeevika's lap.

z - "Daa let's go" he said holding Viren's hand.

v - "Jeevs" he said initiating her to get up from his lap.

Instead of getting up she lay her head on his shoulder and hugged him smiling

v - "Zaaine, mommy is being a baby" he said smiling

z - "Why is mommy sick"

v - "No she just wants attention" he said looking at Jeevika who was also smiling.

z - "Mommy leave daa please"

j - "Why Zaaine? I want to sit in his lap" she said being a little girl and crossing her arms around his neck

Viren and Jeevika were having fun messing around with Zaaine.

z - "Noo da need to help me. Please mommy"

j - "Noo Zaaine, I'm sitting on his lap right now. He will help you later"

z - "Noo, he my daa. Leave him" he said trying to make her move

j - "No he's mine" she said hugging Viren

Zaaine got back on top of Jeevika and started hugging Viren also. Viren was enjoying seeing Jeevika and Zaaine fighting and laughing sooo much. He couldn't stop smiling seeing his world in front of his eyes. Both Zaaine and Jeevika kept bickering with each other and laughing like never before.

v - "You silly goose"

z - "No mommy silly"

j - "No Zaine silly"

v - "Okay, you guys are seriously going to kill me now"

z - "Sorry daa" he said giving him a kiss and getting off Jeevika's lap.

Jeevika also got up from his lap and held Viren's hand.

v - "Zaaine why don't you go downstairs and open your puzzle. We are coming down in 10 minutes"

z - "Okay daa" he said going outside the room.
