I was asked to post it rather in other forums, so instead of repost, I just am linking the relevant forums.

First of all, I would like to clarify that this post isn't meant to be offensive, this is just an analysis of the acting benchmarks and thresholds currently seen. There are many actors present in the industry currently, i have tried to analyse a handful of famous ones, to see how they hold up to the standards of acting.

I would start with VD. People dig his looks. As to acting, he is good but not great IMO. In PKYEK, he had a role in which he fit quite well, but didn't do complete justice. He could have showed various shades, but seemed too monotonous. In this show Madhubala, he seems to go slightly over the top. Although his character is written like that and that's what the script demands, he may maintain some control not to overact. He needs to work on comic timing too.

KSG is a big name I hear. I have seen some of his work, and the dude seems most promising to me currently. He has got good looks and maintains a great physique. But acting wise also, he scores good. Now, i am not saying that he doesn't have faults. I have seen him as a easy, chilled guy in DMG and now in serious role in QH. Man holds up in both the situations. Although in really intense situations, he does seem to drop a notch, but overall the guy seems to trump others, currently.

BS is another big name. But he does not seem to do it for me. He seemed absolutely monochromatic in his show. He seems to portray anger well, but needs to work on other emotions of his. An actor needs to have the whole range perfectly in his sleeves.

Gurmeet is also a famous one. He too has been put in cliched characters, although when presented with tough scenes, he seems to have done average. Not excellent I will say, but he seems to try hard. The guy needs to work on his expressions. He too suffers from the same angry man syndrome. Seems to depict anger well but loosens in other situations.

So, I conclude that overall KSG looks most promising, although other do give him some competition. Of course this is my subjective opinion, none of this is meant to be a universal fact.

You may not want to be offensive dear...but you see the thing is IF doesn't allow comparison of actors. Sorry.

I agree with you to an extent -- yes KSG is an amazing actor, and one of the best out there, but without bias (because I'm not a huge GC fan), I think GC gives him pretty good competition. About the other two you mentioned, well... no comment.

Well i don't knw abt others actors as i don't follow them..
But as i follow GC so i can say abt him.
GC's first show was ramayan,Then a show where he had done negative role,Then geet and now punar vivaah.
I have not seen him in funny type of roles so can't say anything abt it but he is really good in angry and emotional scenes.
If u watch his previous shows he has improved alot. His hindi is really good.I recommend u to watch PV scenes during this month when GC's character is so hearthbroken b/c of his mother.
The guy has improved alot.He really made me cry in many scenes recently!
The guy has to break his previous show wala image and want people to accept him in other role...I'm really happy that he is successful in it.

I'm not forcing my opinion on u its just my opinion😳

Acting benchmarks and thresholds? 😲

I love the term benchmark. It means a point of reference against which things are assessed or compared. So I am curious, what exactly were the acting bench marks that you used to make such an analysis?

Unless you give the readers that point of reference against which you assessed the acting skills of the four actors you mentioned, how will we readers be able to judge if there is any validity to your analysis. My apologies, it seems more like an opinion than an analysis. And that is the thing with opinions isn't it? It is completely based on individual perceptions, right?
