Well, as you may have already noticed, I chose the colour red, for the text... why? Well, red has always been associated with love and affection, exactly just what we saw in today's breath-taking episode of Karam Apna Apna...
In the previous epi (unfortunately I didn't have time to do one of my boring reviews on it), Shiv asked Gauri, "tumhe pata hai zindagi kya hai?" I think in today's episode, he expanded on his definition. He may not love Gauri, but there is a realization that had she not come into his life, he would not have known its actual meaning or value.
The episode began just the way I expected, I didn't expect Ekta to be so humble in that she would show Shiv picking "his" Gauri, like Navs says in her superb ff. But still, she took any words out of my mouth by showing some heart-melting moments. The hand in hand pursuit of freedom, an attempt at another life was simply too sweet for words. I did also predict that they would be caught, and they were. But the following scenes I did not anticipate, but were like icing on the cake. Pallavi and Iqbal are truly talented individuals and they share brilliant on-screen chemistry. The little conversation about reminicing the past was tear-jerking. Gauri indicated within it, that despite not sharing in practice the relationship of husband and wife, they share an inextinguishable bond and through this bond, she can understand even that which does not come from his mouth... That was simply beautiful. It seems that both realize that they never really knew the meaning of "love"... until perhaps now. Iqbal and Pallavi's expressions were touched on reality. Gauri's tear falling on his hand was so touching...
One of the highlights of today's epi was the next scene... The ultimate moment... the compassionate embrace. Without you, I cannot live so let us die and leave the implication that we had a successful marriage, as ours is such that endless in death. The way they held onto each other was... hmm.. I can't even explain. The desperateness, anxiety... and then the gunshots and Shiv grabbing his hand... the eyelocking, close promiximity... it was all so cute, so beautiful. And then the horror, guilt and other emotions so vividly depicted by IK were worth a standing ovation!! Seriously, I was blown over by the acting today!!
Shiv's deep concern for Gauri and her health shows that somewhere, he realizes that she is worth more to him than perhaps he had ever thought.
The scene of where he is sitting on the sofa remembering everything and looking at Gauri all the while... yaar, it was too good!! I loved how he would fix the pillows and caress her hair.. and let her hold his hand while she slept. Gauri's dream seemed to indicate a fear.. maybe of separation from Shiv? She has already seemed to have stepped into the sea of love, but has yet to realize it, while her husband has just dipped his feet into the water.
Ishpita, yaar she's so irritating... Good but irritating... she spoiled the cute moment. And then she also seems to be getting influenced by Anupam the cutie, whom she "doesn't love". Aww, Shiv is so adorable answering for Gauri about her health and giving her juice etc...
I'm sure that neither of them truly realize that what they are experiencing is love, but they do have a respect for each other. The so-called hatred in Shiv's eyes seems to have completely disappeared.
Ok, so this scene is worth a mention. When Gauri puts the painting on the wall, she sees Shiv's reflection in it and when she turns to face him, it doesn't seem like he noticed the picture. Gauri's face covered the girl's... So, the girl is definately Gauri... Again, Shiv's genuine concern was too cute...
And now for the finale... Haila, what is going on... Shiv called the bulldozer off, but I have a feeling that Devika is gonna make it look like he was behind the whole thing... Ekta Maiya, please humpe kirpa banaye rakhiyega... we want more cute scenes!!
Performance wise... Iqbal and Pallavi were tremendously amazing... The expressions were priceless... the eyes spoke volumes.
Love is definately in the air!! This show just keeps getting better.... I wish they would show double epis!!
Anyways, sorry about the length, and thanks for reading!!
P.S. my update awaiters, give a little more time... it will be up later today!
Cheers,
