REVIEWS: Zindagi Gulzar Hai HUM TV Full Drama Review

Zindagi Gulzar Hai is easily one of the most well promoted and famous serials today. HUM TV had huge expectations from it; after all it stars Fawad Khan, who has touched unprecedented heights of stardom, and has been penned by Umera Ahmed, who knows how to strike the right chord with the audience. And not to forget, it also marks the return of Madame Sultana Siddiqui to direction after a hiatus of a good few years. MORE

I actually agree with your entire review.
If I may add, ZGH was actually pre-hyped and overpromoted so much that it came tumbling down on my expectations. Even Fawad cannot save this show for me. It's boring, repeptitive and drags. It's started picking up pace now near the 16th episode but I don't think that's going to last for long. Every episode has a few promising scenes but then mostly is a disappointment.
Fawad Khan is the best out of the whole cast. I like Sanam as Kashaf. She's doing a good job but her dialogue delievery is wierd and yes some of her expressions are repetitive too. I hate Kashaf's character though. I find her unrelatable and annoying to the core. Umera IMO wrote a stronger character for Kashaf than Zaroon though.. Especially in the first few episodes.
The supporting actor's mostly all do a good job barring Shehryar and Mehreen.

I disagree with this review.
- So, on one hand you're telling me you can see how Sultana Siddqui is considered a legend..but then on another hand you're telling me she has directed some pretty bad scenes..you have to think one or the other, otherwise, you don't agree with her being a legend. 😆 It's as if the writer doesn't want to degrade Sultana..but, oh by the way...

- Then the writer compares Sanam-Fawad's pair to that of Asher-Khirad's...perhaps, Kashaf-Zaroon's pair? It's as if people confuse characters with real life actors and vice versa. Anyway, the review mentions how there's a lack of ROMANCE between Zaroon-Kashaf when compared to Asher-Khirad..where did that even come from? 😆 There is no romance between the two as of yet. .. Anyone who even pays the slightest of attention would've realized that by now..needless to say, Asher-Khirad's pair REQUIRED romance and that too in the very initial stagesof the show. Pointless comparison..

- Personally, Sanam Saeed makes this show. She has had more scenes than anyone else thus far. In my opinion, if you find her boring then not too sure how you've hung onto this show for this long. Fawad is amazing as Zaroon as it goes with Sanam, this role was just for him, and only him...but to say he's the only saving grace of the show is nothing but exaggerated. No one could've played Kashaf better than Sanam..this goes down as her best performance yet, and to just simply say "she bores me" is a bit unfair. The show revolves around her..had she been a weak performer, this show would've ended for most of us a while back. I love Kashaf..and if it weren't for Sanam, honestly I probably wouldn't have liked her character. The best part about Kashaf is she's so real..and for that, I'd like to mention Umera. I disagree with the Umera bit. It's annoying to see the same repetitive bechari girl who 3% of the entire desi population can relate to - too beautiful to even be true, rich as hell, has everything, spoiled and whatnot..and despite all of that becomes a bechari somewhere down the line (most of us just think wth?). Here, there's someone who I'm sure more than just a few of us can relate to and in so many ways - FINALLY. And, Kashaf's deep thoughts are some of my favorites. The dialogues for me at least are so easy to relate to. After so long, I actually have seen a show with characters who seem like day to day people..and I think that due goes to Umera. However, I don't know what other people look for in shows..so perhaps each to their own.

Overall, I think the editing could've been better..the time gaps and locations can get confusing..the father scenes were a bit too many in the beginning, but it's been fine as of late. Personally, think Sanam & Fawad have an amazing chemistry and this is without a single romantic scene. You don't have to have romance in a scene for two people to click. Apart from that, this is probably one of my most favorite show of recent times..and I think everyone deserves credit for it. I mean there must be a reason why it's currently the best show on Pakistani television? or at least the most watched.

Ratings have just gone up now that it has improved. And it is just a commercial show that is working due to Fawad Khan and Promotion (again, my opinion) but the channel seems to agree as well.

I agree with most of the points.
I was excited about ZGH.watched first few episodes and than lost my Interest.because It was too slow and i strongly feel that Kashaf Overreacts most of the time specially infront of zaroon. In novel her arguments with zaroon were justified but Here Few shots did not make any sense.
Fawad is brilliant and sanam is good too,she has portrayed her character very well. But overall ZGH has disappointed me.

Fawad can't save a show on its own. 😆 Have you not seen Ashk? It had Fawad, it failed though. People feel post Humsafar..have Fawad in any show and it'll work..that's not how it works.

Quality in Pakistani shows has become a subjective topic now..especially with the recent shows that depict supposed "quality." Most people complain about the most weirdest of things..how they don't like Kashaf (Kashaf's a character, the character is written a certain way - Umera isn't going to please your liking or mine for that matter), the pace (so, what drama have we set as the benchmark for pace? every show drags at one point)..Umera's dialogues (some people just don't agree with the dialogues, or find them nothing special...guess to them Umera should just stick to SeZ or MZZB kind of dialogues)..etc.

I find these complaints so minor and actually not a good reason to say the quality is of question. That stuff has nothing to do with quality in my opinion. As mentioned, I'm not sure what people look for in Pakistani shows nowadays, especially with the benchmarks created but this show could not have lasted this long with viewers just because of Fawad (who just got more screen time 5 episodes ago) or mere promotions. That's just denial of the fact that this show actually does click with so many people.

I disagree with what has been written about Sanam Saeed.. She has done a very good job imo.. Her best performance till date.
Editing is bad. also i dont know why they chopped off many interesting university scenes which were part of the novel. Too much focus was put on Asmara & Usama who were not required in my opinion.

Thanks for the review! I agree this serial ahs been a let down, the speed is so slow and the editting is bad, you can easily skip a few episodes and not miss a thing
However, I think Sanam deserves more credit here. her acting has been great!
Kashafs dad and his second wife have also acted very well
I think the main reason this show has been a hit is because of the cast!
